I heard it is open 1 day a year for residents to visit. We just looked at the outside. It looked very nice.

The band was worth the stop. Entertaining music and it was a different changing of the guard to what we have seen in other cities. Well worth the visit.

This is the president's "summer house", you can appreciate it while walking in the "avenida peru". it's a nice place, but i'm not sure if you can visit. It's up the castillo hill. "cerro Castillo"

Very nice Palace, but is accessible only on the last sunday of may. The rest of the year it's closed for the public.

Take a picture of the palace from the castle across the street. Or perhaps hike up the road adjacent to the palace for a photo shot. The palace is a big house on a hill, but nothing to go far out of your way to visit.

A great walk from our hotel below! What a beautiful location! Pretty strenuous going uphill, so be prepared.

It is not always possible to actually visit the palace directly but it is an impressive sight from in front of the palace at its front entrance. It is used by the President of Chile when the president is in the Valparaiso area.

Hidden behind the trees and the high-rising flats is an European castle like structure with a Chilian flag fluttering over it. This is what I saw from the Peru Avenue and this I was told was the Palacio Presidencial or the President's summer home. The tour guide has only this much to offer and we go nowhere near the mansion.

They are just a block away, anyway. It's just a modern structure that was meant to look like a castle, but it's dissproporcionated, ugly, and there's nothing to show.
