The park is within easy walking distance from the main plaza in Vina del Mar. The main feature in the park is the art museum which is open with a limited number of people allowed inside.

The park is not well maintained with dirt walking paths. I found the Chilean Palm trees to be interesting. Very little to see in the park if you aren't lucky enough to enter the museum.

I went to Vina del Mar as a side excursion to a tour of the port of Valparaiso (9kms from Vina Del Mar.. Vina del Mar is a small coastal resort town equipped with a nice beach, a choice of excellent seafood restaurants & a casino to tempt visitors. Other attractions for visitors include an archaelogical & history museum (Museo Fonck) boasting mainland Chile's only moai (large Easter Island stone statue); Reloj de Flores, a famous clock made from flowers. &, of course, the Quinta Vergara Amphitheater. The amphitheatre is situated within a large heavily-wooded park which is also the home of the grand Palacio Vergara (currently closed due to recent earthquake damage). The Quinta Vergara Amphitheater annually hosts the biggest International Song Festival in South America, which has drawn many international performers like Elton John, Morrissey, Julio Iglesias and Sting; It is an interesting construction, very much open air, based on the Ancient Greek model, but with a particular distinctive feature, a 'roof' comprising multiple vertical poles suspended from the air!

It's s nice place for a walk under the trees. There is a simple, basic coffee shop where you can get a sandwich.
You can rest on the grass, learn the scientific names of the trees and bushes.
Is good for an hour or two.

I went there just for the name.. Wasn't a big deal. I guess it's better if there's like a concert or event.. I'd like to go again to the "Festival de Viña del Mar"

I was expecting something impressive but it's just an amphitheater and a park that have nothing special. Even if you go to a concert, there are more interesting places to visit in the region. So if it's not in your way, don't take the trouble to go there.

We were brought here on our day trip tour bus from Santiago. We walked through wrought iron gates and were then told that the house was under renovation so we could not view it. The trees in the grounds are now quite old and need a lot of work to ensure their longevity as they were a bit overgrown. The auditorium was large but I was completely underwhelmed by it. Where were the photographs of previous acts ? What a waste of a stop.

Went there but the place was falling apart and closed for future remodeling. The entrance park has nice trees and a monument to Neruda and Gabriela Mistral.
