Described as both a ‘Vertical City’ and ‘A Living Wonder,’ Burj Khalifa, developed by Dubai-based Emaar Properties PJSC, is the world’s tallest building.

Rising gracefully from the desert, Burj Khalifa honours the city with its extraordinary union of art, engineering and meticulous craftsmanship.

At 828 metres (2,716.5 ft), the 200 plus storey Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world. The tower was inaugurated on January 4, 2010, and is responsible for a number of world-firsts. The tower became the world’s tallest man-made structure just 1,325 days after excavation work started in January 2004.

Burj Khalifa utilised a record-breaking 330,000 cubic metres of concrete; 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement; 103,000 square metres of glass; and 15,500 square metres of embossed stainless steel. The tower took 22 million man hours to build.

Well worth a visit, architectural marvel. A bit of queuing involved but moves along well. We managed to be at the top for the fountain display below. It's attached to the Dubai Mall which in itself is worth a wander around, you will probably say wow quite a lot!

Whether you go to the top, sky lounge or just walk around the bottom by the fountains, the Burj is a must see. Go at night to see thousands of LED's twinkling on and around the building

One cannot travel to Dubai and not go up the Burj Khalifa. It's is definitely a must do when there. Highly recommend that you buy the tickets before your trip as all slots may be fully booked. That being said it doesn't mean that when you have a ticket you will automatically go up on your booked time. There are... More

If you are in Dubai, and ready to burn some cash, then be at Burj Khalifa, as on date the tallest building in the world, Adult ticket would cost approx 125 AED. The best way is to book the tickets online at your choice of time slot. However you may directly reach the venue and look for slots but that... More

Staying in Downtown Dubai

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.
