About
The Chillout Ice Lounge, created by Sharaf Hospitality, is the first ice lounge in the Middle East, launched in 2007, the ice lounge had a major refurbishment in July 2014. The Middle East's first sub-zero lounge is decorated with ice sculptures, unique seating and illuminated interiors. All are maintained within a -6 degree Celsius environment, providing an icy escape that makes for a memorable chill out experience. There are hot drink options to help guests banish the icy chill and a variety of classic hot meals on offer. Once visitors arrive they are given thermal clothing to keep themselves warm in the minus six degrees. This comprises of a hooded parka (a heavy jacket), woollen gloves, shoes and socks, if required. Visitors are advised to spend a few minutes in the 'buffer zone' area to get acclimatized. The temperature in the buffer zone is set at 5 degrees Celsius, which gives the body time to adjust to the low temperature in the main Chillout Ice Lounge. The Chillout Ice Lounge combines the novelty of subzero temperatures with a unique interior design. It is a technological innovation in refrigeration, lighting, architecture & sculptured ice. The diffused lighting changes its colours at certain intervals and it filters through crystal clear blocks of ice, filling them with low-lux hues of varying patterns, making the moment freeze in its ambience. All these elements have been intelligently composed to create one of the best ice lounges in the world. The lounge serves hot soups, sandwiches, juices, hot chocolates, coffee, tea and a variety of deserts, mock-tails and confectionary, making it the first of its kind in the world to serve hot food & beverages. Chillout Ice Lounge is located at the ground level, Times Square Center, on the Sheikh Zayed Road -Dubai. Why not visit us for a memorable experience with friends and family. We are available for birthday parties, event, film shoots and private hire.

The area

Address
Neighborhood: Al Quoz
Al Quoz sits literally at the halfway point between old and new Dubai. At first sight it has little to recommend it: warehouses and factories dominate the area, with some residential areas on the outskirts. Heavy goods vehicles roar up and down the roads and laborers stop at small hole-in-the-wall cafes for a cheap lunch. But it is fast becoming a magnet for art lovers: Alserkal Avenue is a significant contemporary art hub, home to 25 galleries and arts spaces, with ambitious expansion plans. The galleries host exhibitions, talks, panel discussions, auctions, and community events. If you love art, pass by to visit the galleries, it’s a great opportunity to get a sense of art and community in the region and to sit alongside key influencers and artists as they go about their day.

A unique experience, albeit in Ramadan when quiet. Entry fee is steep at DHS60 per person, but they cloth you in a thick coat with boots and gloves and offer you a complimentary drink in an ice glass. Careful not to get your lips stuck to it though!. No alcohol served here. The chairs, tables and bar are all in ice, as are the sculptures of Dubai skyline and the art on the wall. Kept at -6 degrees, it is not a place to stay for a full evening as the cold gets to you; half an hour at most. The ice is remodeled every 3 months, but worth the experience, with the changing lights if you cannot get to the ALTA IGLOO HOTEL in Norway! If you cannot afford the entry fee, you can see it from outside in the Times Square Mall.

Nothing much to write about the place. I would not recommend the place. But still to experience something different, not a bad place to visit. They serve hot chocolate but it was not good.

Enjoy your visit.

Dubai is the city of wonders where even the heated summers can be wonderful with the several indoor tourist attractions.

Have a chilled-out experience of minus 6 degrees temperature in Dubai...

A large room at minus 6 degrees, full of 'sculptures' made of ICE.

Sipping on hot chocolate in this Ice World experience is amazing.

Kids loved it.

Dubai never ceases to amaze us with so many things to see and experience. The Chillout Lounge is located in The Times Square in Dubai.

Since its very cold inside (to keep the ice sculptures from melting) ; jackets are provided on entry (included in entry ticket price). But one should go there with warm bottom wear (jeans and body-hugging trousers rather than shorts and skirts). Carry gloves if you have any.

The Hot chocolate seems super delicious in the cold room :)

while this is a neat concept - freezing your tush off in the heat of Dubai, in practice its overly priced and boring. I paid the 90 aed entrance fee which included a cup of tea or hot chocolate. However, the waiter had left as it was too cold for him and I had to chase him down. By the time I got the hot chocolate had been in the place 15 minutes . Very poor customer service. Wait staff actually acted as if the customers were a bother to him. Never again will visit there

Getting into a -6 degree restaurant that serves some quick hot snack and drink was truly a unique experience. Though I have experienced this temperature in Europe, this restaurant experience was amazing. We were provided with the full warm clothing (they did not have enough warm wear for kids) including a cap, gloves, jacket and shoe. The seating and table were all made of ice. There were ice sculptures around, of animals and Dubai's iconic towers. The ice danglers were also marvelous. Just about 30 minutes we were done. Worth a visit.

The restaurant presents an unexpected blood-chilling spot in the middle of the boiling weather of Dubai! As the name suggests, the restaurant presents a unique Scandinavian-type ambiance, where you will find virtually everything made up of ice. The utensils, furniture, interior, famous iconic buildings of Dubai , all carved with ice. The unique restaurant is located in the Time Square Mall.

The temperature maintained inside the restaurant is -6 C, and the protective suiting are available to visitors upon the payment of the entry fees of AED 60. Though the entry fees seems to be a bit on the higher side, but it is worth visiting the place only for a roam around. Having food is upon your choice, I will not recommend eating food there because I don't have a very pleasant experience of eating at chillout. Paying for the food is in addition to the entry fees, but the price of the food does not justify the value.

I strongly recommend a visit to "Chillout" and recommend to Chill Out!

I have visited the ice bar in London so was very disappointed by this attraction. Compared to the London attraction this is very cheaply and poorly done. Do not expect the same and maybe you won't be so disappointed.

Service was extreamly slow to get a drink, cannot comment on the food as we didn't eat here.

Overall I was very disappointed with this attraction.
