The Jumeirah Mosque is a must see since it is a land mark of Dubai. It is not the largest mosque in the UAE, yet it is one of the few open to non-Muslims. The Visit Programme is hosted by The Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding. The visit itself takes about an hour for a small fee. Mosque visitors get the chance to observe the prayer and learn more about the customs of worship and ask any questions under the banner program "Open doors. Open minds." Jumeirah Mosque showcases the medieval Fatimid architecture in its stone construction. Visit tours are offered daily accept Friday and begin at 10am sharp. No pre-registration is required. Plan to arrive at 9:30am for registration and enjoy Emirati snacks and hot beverages. Doors will close at 10:05am and will reopen at 11:15am. There is only one guided tour daily. Entry fee is 20AED per person while children under 12 free. The Mosque grounds are open all day, and you may view the Jumeirah Mosque's beautiful architecture from the outside any day of the week. Located at the end of Jumeirah Beach Road, the closest Metro stop is Al Jafiliya. From there you can take a short taxi ride to the mosque or transfer to C10 RTA bus. Modest dress is advisable, however national attire can be borrowed at the door.

Went for Friday prayers, it was very busy. The mosque is beautiful and so are the grounds around it. Its not a very big place and will not take too much of your time but its a very soothing and peaceful place. Best time to visit would be in the morning as its not too hot Overall I would recommend... Take some time from your busy mall shopping experiences and visit the Jumeirah Mosque. It is an amazing cultural experience that you shouldn't miss. It's only about 75 minutes of your time, but you will leave so much richer. " Open Doors, Open Minds".

Our family (including 2 teens) had a wonderful experience here. After many travels around the world, it was our first time allowed into a mosque. The mosque itself is lovely--manageable in size, beautifully decorated, not overly lavish. But the real treat is the open doors program. You are greeted with Arabic treats/coffee and then meet up with your guide. Our... More

We were only able to visit the outside of the mosque during a city tour we did. In order to go inside (if not Muslim), you must get permission in advance. It is very pretty though in a very nice area of town.

This was my first time visiting a mosque so I do not have any comparables. Regardless, I found the experience amazing. The mosque is beautiful and truly a must see if you have never been to a mosque before and have time. We arrived early for the daily tour (Saturdays thru Thursdays at 10a). The place got full pretty quickly.... More

A great learning experience, very friendly and informative. It gives people a better understanding of a Muslim's religion and beliefs. Very low cost and worthwhile a visit.

We were not very impressed by it (from a tourist point of view). It is a normal mosque without anything special. I would recommend going in the morning as there are guided tours (the only way to get inside if you are not Muslim)

Staying in Jumeirah

Neighborhood Profile
Years ago, before the skyscrapers, before the 12-lane highway, there was only Jumeirah. In fact, when the UAE was formed, its rulers signed the agreement in Union House, at the very start of Jumeirah Beach Road. Often called “The Beverly Hills” of Dubai, a drive down Beach Road reveals one enormous, lavish villa after another. Originally residential-only neighborhoods, they are now also home to an array of cafes, smart boutiques, and art galleries. Home to one of Dubai’s few public beaches, this recently renovated area includes a new boardwalk, running and walking track, with changing facilities and cafes along the way. Another landmark, Jumeirah Mosque, is the only mosque in Dubai that can be entered by non-Muslims. As part of the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, the mosque hosts regular tours and talks about Islam, as part of an “Open Doors, Open Minds” program. A wonderful way to understand more about the UAE and Islam.
