Once the PA told me we’d be playing golf in Dubai I immediately went and splurged (thousands) on a new set of clubs and golfing outfit. It wasn’t until we arrived that it became apparent the PA had in fact booked for us to play something called ‘mini golf’, the PA received an earful when I realised I’d only need to use a putter so my aforementioned purchase was redundant. The staff were friendly and pointed out that the PA looked a hot sweaty mess, I thanked them for their observation and couldn’t agree more. Onto the course it became apparent that the golf cart and caddy I’d hired wouldn’t be required as it was very small. I had been expecting 18holes so was quite surprised to only find 6, however it was decided to have 3 rounds. The PA teed off first and somehow kept it on the green, my first shot went into road; there was a bit of commotion when I told the PA to put me down for a hole in one. After 2 roads it appeared the PA was winning so I threw down my clubs and stormed off, in need of a cool down I decided to walk to deira city centre. Eventually the PA caught up and after some obscenities it was agreed that we’d drawn. Overall it was a good golf club but the so called ‘mini golf’ was pretty poor.

Used driving range for unlimited balls
When I approached a staff as I did not know how to get additional baskets of balls.
The staff was alone and assisting another customer.
Gave me an eye contact so waiting for him to assist me as there was no other customers.
While awaiting for my turn, other 2 customers approached and he started to attend those people and completely ignored me. Not sure how he prioritize the guests. Maybe I’m the only one colored person there.
I mentioned about I was the one waiting first however his excuse was he was alone and I need to understand that. Then ending the conversation, telling me I can take the basket anytime and play.
If I knew, I would do so. It was so unkind service for first timer.
Till the end, he didn’t put him in customer’s shoes and never apologized about making a guest wait.
How he communicate was quite rude as well. I asked his name and he said “ my name is Francis, you can tell my manager about it.”
I do not understand that meaning. What can I expect about the situation if I tell to his manager?
Anyways, hope the manager will read this comment and train Francis about customers service.

Matthew Brookes coached me to reconnect with golf. Over the last two months, I’ve seen a huge improvement in my game-having abandoned it 6 years ago. Matthew has been unlike any other coach I’ve worked with. He laid emphasis on fitness especially mobility. His sessions and guidance were a key success factor in my improvement. He was concise and yet full
Of empathy, to give me much needed confidence. I would highly recommend Matthew. I’m also delighted with the staff at the range and the club house. Thanks Matt and team!

The DCGYC is an amazing resort complex in the centre of the city. The golf course is one of the best in the UAE and has a number of signature holes; the island tee of the sixth to the daunting 17th and 18th both running alongside the Creek, just bring plenty of balls with you!

I have been a member since 2017 and for me what makes the club stand out from the rest is the incredible friendly and helpful staff, they are a credit to Dubai Golf.

The course is carefully maintained throughout the year and so during the peak winter months it is simply superb. You cannot blame the condition of the greens when you 3 putt as they run true and fast throughout the year.

Designed to represent a traditional dhow, the iconic clubhouse provides spectacular views of the city’s skyline and of the creek. If you are visiting as a tourist just show the taxi driver a AED20 note as DCGYC is the only golf club in the world whose clubhouse features on a banknote.

We stopped in Dubai for a few days on route to Mauritius and played twice at Dubai creek golf course. With it being a Friday and Saturday you have to sign up to either the 0730 or 1430 shotgun start.

Must say the club is setup well for the amount of people who turn up. Course is in great condition and quite narrow with lots of water and sand. That said I really enjoyed the course and did not find it that challenging.

Food in the restaurant was somewhat disappointing and the drinks somewhat pricey compared to other bars downtown.

Overall worth a visit if you want to knock off another golf course in Dubai.

I’ve had lessons with Tom Ogilvie and Ewan Bowden and both were fantastic. Very patient and informative. Started as a complete beginner and have been taught how to play with irons, drivers, putting, chipping and bunker shots. Also got to use the top tracer which is a great tool to measure performance and improvement of shots. I would highly recommend them both and the facilities at the Dubai Creek course are well run.

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to take a number of golf lessons with Mathew Brookes and am writing this review as he has managed in a few lessons what many others had tried to achieve in the past.
Matts ability to review my swing, talk me through it to make me understand what had to be corrected and why and then provide me with exercises to enable my body to be able to flex in the way it was required has changed my game and more importantly made me progress from someone who wanted to play to someone who is now passionate to get on the course as much as possible.
The secret is that Matt does not over complicate things. He corrects what’s most important and the results are quasi immediate. This enabled me to progress rapidly and enjoy the lessons and the games that I played.
Thanks Matt you are a star.

My favourite part was the Ladies Golf and Coffee Sessions hosted by instructor Tom Ogilvie.

He was patient, sincere and never rushed his teachings. He focused on the tiniest of details (from form, body flow, strength to club selection) to improve my playing.

I’ve been attending the Ladies mornings at the golf club for a while now, Tom Ogilvie is a great coach taking me from absolutely beginner to being confident enough to play on a full course. He has a great knowledge of the sport and is luckily very patient. The reception staff are always helpful and attentive too.

After recently moving to Dubai, I have had the pleasure of playing some of the best courses in the area.
After finally getting the opportunity to play The Creek, it was an all in all great experience.
From driving up to the extravagant club house to driving off the 18th tea providing a challenging approach to the 19th hole.
All staff treated our group with a professional yet friendly approach which gave a great feel to the day!
Booked in for another round tomorrow afternoon - no doubt my experience will be the same as my first.
Thanks to all those involved in making the club what it is.
