[July 2014] The souk is not authentic because it's not the old open souk market one might expect. It is a big mall with A/C that is decorated in the style and colors of a souk. Nothing that is very fancy and different from other...More

Souk Al Bahar is across from the Dubai Mall, therefore best to visit when visiting the mall or the fountains. Besides some small souvenir shops very typical for souk's in Dubai there are a few good restaurants and cafes. The souk is more known for...More

The architecture of the building itself, and the bridge to get to the Souk are very picturesque but the inside of the Souk offers little to excite.

I visited this small mall in 20 minutes. Architecturally perfect, very cute in antique style, but the shops leave something to be desired, little choice and high prices. TIP: at midnight closes so pass us in the early evening otherwise you risk finding it closed...More

Hi, it's very close, one Metro stn. Dubai Mall Metro stn to Business Bay, then you walk back a couple of block. You can even walk from Dubai Mall to Souk Albahar, maybe 30 min. Enjoy Dubai.

Restaurant with fountain view (10 Replies)
Hello, I'm looking to book a restaurant with good views of the dancing fountains. We will be spending 4 nights of our honeymoon in Dubai and I'm after a nice setting for a romantic meal. I've looked at the Mango Tree and Rivington in the Souk al Bahar (both get okay reviews). Can anyone recommend any others? I guess with prime views of the fountains these restaurants won't be cheap! I am planning a trip up the Burj Kalifa at 6:30pm then dinner at 8ish. Many thanks Neil

Well here's part 2 ... Saturday 14th Feb, Dubai Mall, Bastikya and Meat Co at Souk Al Bahar We had another delicious breakfast and quickly popped into the Dubai Mall to buy a Seiko watch my OH had liked yesterday- he was toying with the idea of splurging on a watch - we tried loads of brands on but there was always something not quite right, they're all too big and ugly with over designed straps or faces. The watch he really wants he's just too tight to spend the money on (but we'll have...More
