First visit to Dubai Police Museum!!!
Dec 2019
We saw this small Dubai Police Museum next to the Police Academy while in our hotel house car while driving back to the Burj Al Arab and I had to stop and check it out.

As a retired Law Enforcement Officer from a major Big City in the North East, I had to stop and take a look.

Small building with old and historical items. Photos adorn the walls and showing all the Top Police Officials throughout the years with their beloved Sheikh. Old weapons, radios and uniforms are on display.

I was told by my personal guide a Police Officer who took the time to open the doors and gave me an exclusive private tour and we made small talk and traded info on their Police Academy and their Policing.
Thank you sir!!!

I gave him a hand full of Thin Blue Line silicon wrist bands and he was happy!!! Thank you for the tour!!!

This is a great museum, which shows everything about Dubai Police of today and it's history.
We enjoyed a very good presentation of it given by a highly competent and motivated guide, so that it was one of our highlights of our Dubai stay.

Highly recommendable and worth seeing.

The tour incl. a bottle of cold water was given for free.

Dubai actually boasts of 2 police museums, one at the Police headquarters near the airport and the other one at the academy near Burj Al Arab. This review is regarding the older, former one.

To visit the museum, one needs to apply on the Dubai Police website and can be visited once approval is granted. I reported to the reception at the Police HQ and after submitting my Emirates ID (mandatory) was taken to the museum in a bus. The museum is undergoing external renovation. There are ambitious plans to redesign the building in the shape of a policeman's hat, but that will take some time.

Inside, the museum is small but filled with stuff. From old weapons and uniforms to awards given to the Dubai Police, it has quite a bit. One can see pics of former police commissioners, the 1st Emirati woman to join the police, the Golden Jubilee celebrations etc. That said, most of the signs were in Arabic and having them in English as well would be more helpful for a tourist.

One can spend around 20-30 minutes here. Entrance is free.

Great little museum

We visited the smaller Dubai Police Museum located by the front entrance of the Police Academy. The displays were great inside and there were police cars on display outside. The staff who are Dubai police officers were very friendly and helpful.

Please note if you wish to visit the larger Police Museum located at the Police HQ complex you need to make an appointment, this can be done through the Dubai Police wewbsite.

They actually give parking tickets out at Christmas

The museum is pretty cool and you would think from the impressive start they had things would have gone on to be amazing. Well they do some good stuff I guess and they have a few supercars to to try and make themselves look cool.......... Unfortunately there are traffic wardens hiding in their ranks. Some are capable of watching you park in a bay, where many other cars are also parked, giving the appearance of a legal parking area. They smile innocently, as you walk away from your car, entering a small shop, from which you will no doubt return shortly....... Then like spineless lesser spotted traffic wardens they pounce and slap you with a 500dirham fine on the windscreen. When you return they can be found close by in their shiny jeep sniggering
