We had been to this mall many times over the years but had been closed for 4 years due to refurbishment works following a huge fire. The taxi driver said it was open and so did it’s website so we thought we’d take a look. After paying a 100 Dhirhams to get there and over half an hour in the cab we were dropped off only to find the doors shut and as we turned around the taxi driver had sped off. All to make a taxi fare. Fuming.

I have been visiting this mall since more than twenty four years now and one of my favourite malls through a little underrated. Lamcy Plaza is a mid-sized shopping mall in the Oud Metha area of Dubai. Its five floors offer over 150 stores, a small cinema, food court, and for the family and I have had my food there twice in the food court that had a choice of a variety of cuisines in their food court in the ground floor. The Lamcy Plaza, hit by a fire outbreak in early March in 2017 was renovated and still being renovated partly I was told.

The Lamcy Plaza is one of the oldest in Dubai. With my first visit in 1998, the mall was still brand new and I am certain that the puppet clown that goes up and down a rope was as fascinating then as it is now to children. This is an affordable mall as prices are lesser than the bigger malls and one will find stores that caters for ones shopping needs from electronics to health to clothing to footwear to groceries. It also has a cinema and for the children a Fun City play area.

There are ample outside parking and a good place to while away time.

Lamcy Plaza, Dubai is in Oud Mehta is one of the oldest medium sized shopping mall having five floors. There are international brands of shops like Paris Gallery, Matalan, Shoemart, Daiso Japan, toys store, Bossini, Damas jewellery, NineWest, Aldo, cosmetics, restaurants, Al Maya Hypermarket etc and much more. It is situated near Karama, Dubai.

A shopping mall plus a roam about mall which all ages can go and relax.

Last Friday there had been a fire, and it was closed temporarily. But it's always a very good mall for shopping with high quality items and reasonable price.

The shops at this mall are ones that mostly no one goes to.

The food court is dull as well.

The is a cinema next door that is probably more worth your time.

In a city that boasts of the Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates and Ibn Batuta Mall, Lamcy is like the not so well to do and not so well off cousin, who tries hard to be cool. If you want a store that isn't big and famous and which offers you good stuff, you can find them here. Daiso, the Japanese outlet and Matalan have good buys.

Based in Bur Dubai - this has multiple levels (4 I think) with some good stores (Matalan, etc.). Its not high end but some good bargains. Food Court on the ground floor is really good - mainly Southeast Asian food. Good parking in the square outside (surrounded by more restaurants)
