There are plenty of private operators offering various tours for the Dubai coastline, but the RTA ferries offer a very comfortable and reasonably priced service between Dubai Marina and Dubai. Great for showing visitors the coastline with interesting/pleasant stops at either end. Some onboard commentary would have been useful.

The ferry goes back and forth between the Dubai Marina and Al Ghubaiba near Bur Dubai. It costs 50 AED and it is a great way to see all of the sights of Dubai from the water. It passes the Atlantis the Palm, the Burj Al Arab and you can see the skyline of Dubai as you head to the... More

I took the ferry from Al Ghubaiba to the Marina Mall and it was one the best experience I had in Dubai. The trip takes about 2 hours and it is the best way to see the Dubai skyline from the Maritime City with its giant cruise ships, to the WTC and Downtown, Jumeirah with the beaches, the Palm with... We took the Tourist Tour at 5pm leaving from Dubai Marina which circled out to the Palm and back again over about 45 mins. At this time of year it was daylight turning to dusk which was pretty. At 50 AED each for a silver ticket it was well worth it to see the Marina area from the sea, the... More

Perfect for an offbeat day trip, the entire trip lasts for around 60min. There are a number of stations served by the Dubai Ferry at either end of Dubai in Al Ghubaiba, Dubai Marina and also some stations running through the Dubai Water Canal. The boats can also be hired for private use from the RTA on hourly rental charter... More

Absolutely worth the money. Runs each day at 5pm and takes exactly 1 hour. Ferry offers about 80 seats for silver (50 dirham) and 14 for Gold (75 Dirham) and it can be busy. We went silver today and it was marvellous. Immediately after setting off you can go outside to the rear of the boat and enjoy the views... More

It's pricey, 50 dirham to go from Dubai Marina to Al Ghubabia and it takes 2 hours, along with only a couple of departure times. Whereas the metro will take about an hour and is 5 dirham. You'll get a view of the Palm and Burj Al Arab so that's pretty good.

Although it doesn't run that often it is a great way to do a bit of sightseeing and get around. We took the trip from Dubai Marina to the Creek where you can wander through the souk and parts of old Dubai. Well worth doing if you haven't tried it.

Nice indoor and outdoors area, must be sure sea is calm to enjoy the trip beat to go around Dubai Marina and the Palm Jumeirah.

Staying in The Marina

Neighborhood Profile
The Marina
It’s hard to believe that only a decade ago there was no marina. Opened in 2003, the man-made marina runs along a 3km stretch of shoreline. A heady mix of luxurious hotels, apartment buildings, and cafes, the marina hosts regular community events and markets, and is a wonderful place to while away an afternoon or evening. Spectacular at night when the skyscrapers glisten, here you can enjoy dinner on the beach next to the sea, or visit a high-rise bar in a hotel for a magnificent view across the Gulf and the man-made Palm Island, with the world-famous Atlantis Hotel at its end. The Walk at Jumeirah beach Residences is a pedestrianized stretch leading to a new development: The Beach. It’s one of the few places where Gulf nationals mix with tourists and Western ex-pats. It’s a popular place to show off your supercar for an evening, so watch out for Lamborghinis, Maseratis, and Ferraris in abundance.
