Recently we have been to Burjuman mall and we have decided to explore JYSK.

Over the past 42 years, JYSK is an international retail chain that offers a wide range of modern furniture for all budget level for the home. Today this Group has 3000 stores in more than 52 countries worldwide. JYSK covers all your home needs, offering furniture, home and bathroom accessories, garden and balcony furniture.

A high-quality Scandinavian furniture store we found the quality is good and the designs are very functional. Nice and vibrant colours. This store is worth a visit for any lifestyle and home decor needs, offering plenty of inspirational ideas and decor options. Not only this along with great offers and products they also have their in house cafe. Called The Lovely J- Cafe located inside the store catering to shoppers with the best breakfast and coffee in town at its on-site eatery.

We tried some of their carrot and Red velvet cake along with coffee we absolutely Loved it. Vibes of the Cafe was super amazing. Perfect place for chilling out or catching up with friends and family.

I highly recommend their home furnishings as they have exceptional quality Products, with Great offers and savings.

Conveniently located close to city center this mall has all the shopping and dining options needed without being too big to traverse. Its one of the oldest malls in the city but still hasn't lost its charm and still attracts many visitors. Not too flashy but still has almost all the shops and restaurants that you usually need. Very well connected with the public transport network via a dedicated metro station and bus stop. I would highly recommend this mall if you are staying in or visiting the BurJuman area.

At Burjuman center there is another mall with over 200 shops. For me the foodcourt at level 3 was of special interest as there are many different food outlets to choose from. Chinese, South Asian, Filipinno, Western, Japanese cuisines to name just a few. Prices compared to nearby Meena bazaar (mainly Indian food) and downtown are moderate.

Bur Juman gonna die. No one wants to go there. Mean managment!
All shopping centers in UAE are offering free parking on weekends. Only BurjJuman is running after paid parking. Very kanjous manament. No wonder why this mall is always empty and shops are leaving and going elsewhere! Now Matalan is closing and moving to Deira City Center. Service is a Disaster and parking is 2 hours free and after you have to pay AED 20 per hour even on weekends. How shopers can enjoy shopping with this! dracon measures? i would not wonder when it will be completely empty even on weekends. Mall management deserved it. Just watch and see last agony malll's movements....

This is actually a review for Mr Crab, situated in the Burjuman mall. But this restaurant isn’t listed. Although restaurants in malls are usually not very cozy or attractive, I decided to try this place out, based on their menu. And I wasn’t disappointed. The seafood at this place is delicious. A lot of choice. Great crab, shrimps and calamari. Very friendly service. Highly recommended whenever you are in the area. Of course, seafood is a little expensive, but for around AED 100 a head, you can have a great meal if you are a fish lover.

Visited the mall as was staying at a nearby hotel. Wanted to check the Vincii store, but it had closed down. Bought a few stuff at Brands for less. This mall has good variety of food on the ground floor. Yellow Chilli by the famous Indian chef Sanjeev Kapoor had good indian food. Mainland China too had good Asian food. There were other restaurants also like Pizza outlet, Thai cuisine.

I was there to get a tourist simcard, it was a small counter located in front of Carrefour supermarket. Staff was nice.
Carrfour was large with variety of goods.
Location was great, close to metro station.
Toilets were clean. Some shops were permanently closed, the open ones seems quiet. I guess it was because of the covid pandemic. There were some currency exchange counters, Emirates NBD bank, furniture shops, brandname clothes and some food outlets.
Good to spend 1-3 hours there, family friendly.

One of the oldest shopping malls in Dubai after Al Ghurair mall owned by the Al Ghurair group this mall was opened somewhere in 1991 and was one of the most popular shopping destinations till other malls sprung up and took away the limelight. I remember there used to be a monthly draw for the lucky winner of a BMW car that stood there in the mall drawing everyone’s attention ! I still find this mall a quiet place that’s not crowded as it used to be once upon a time and I still have a lot of fond memories of this place though I recently visited this place in April this year and found it to be less crowded and I used to visit this place with my sons when they were small and now they are all grown up with families of their own but this mall still has a special place in my heart !

The concept of eating gourmet in a cinema is unheard of, until Dubai cinemas started offering this option. Popcorns and soft drinks with occasional hotdogs are a staple, but one that is refined and elaborate, aesthetically balanced and contrasting rich course offerings on the menu is surprising.

But I am getting ahead.

I went to watch the movie, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, at the newly-appointed VOX cinemas in Burjuman Centre, being closer to home. If Vox smells and looks new, it is because it is. Opened just recently, it boasts of of the large format VOX MAX screen and 4 VOX GOLD luxury cinemas, with 9 more screens. I went for the gold. Lol.

VOX gold has a dedicated lounge with an elegant feel. Cubic mostly in design theme, its over-all cream/gold color is punctuated with brown flooring granite black accents. I was warmly welcomed by a staff who told me relax and enjoy the experience. Classy and clean, I sat on a comfortably-cushioned chair and opened my laptop. I decided to finish my work while awaiting for the movie to start.

I ordered food - Kamikaze shrimp, Philly stick sandwich, mini burger, and club sandwich. If the F&B manager is still Mr. Fahad-Quentin Bahar of the Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management in conjunction with Ecole Hotelier de Lausanne of Switzerland, then popcorn would take a backseat. I asked that the food be served in the cinema.

After 30 minutes, I went my way up to GOLD Cinema 1. The place was small with 50 seating capacity, but I love its sense of privacy. The plush, leather chair was most comfortable but it wasn’t a full recline. I did miss the adjustable footrest of the other VOX Gold cinemas in other places.

The food was served. The kamikaze shrimp was delicious, with the heat and bite that I am used to in gourmet restaurants. Fortunately, I wasn’t mistaken with my initial impression. The chef's signature selection arrived with fries served on what looks like a rectangular, flat, stone-felt serving plate. Nice presentation, I thought. The best in class was the Philly steak burger. Tasty, contrasty, and really delicious. Warning, you need to ask for more table napkins.

Vox Gold in Burjuman delivered one of the best cinema experiences.
