First time back for a few years and booked the Invasor Room package. Beautiful restaurant with option to sit outdoors to watch the races. Good selection of both food and drinks. Excellent and friendly service by all of the staff and a special thank you to Shasti for looking after us. Also really enjoyed the live saxophonist.

We had a wonderful evening at Meydan racecourse. We opted for the Parade Ring Package which was fantastic value, staff were wonderful and the food and choice of drinks excellent. Now to the downside. We took an Uber there from our hotel with no issues, price 110AED, when leaving the racecourse we joined the taxi queue. Looked very official. We got in the taxi and I noticed that it did not have a meter. The driver said it would be 460AED how would I like to pay, I said I wouldn't and got out. No signal so couldn't call an Uber and not a single official taxi anywhere. A long line of people waiting for cabs, I eventually negotiated 140AED. It felt very uncomfortable and I was very glad to arrive back safely. It is a shame that the official taxi situation isn't addressed.

It was a very fascinating experience, as it was a first time for us. We had no clue what to expect- but the 5AED price of ticket booked online was worth every penny. They had 6-7 races on the day we went. At the entrance you are given a booklet with the horse details for each race, and a card on which you make your guess and mark the winning horses for each race. Since we were confused we asked around, and were given all the help we needed. It's a unique experience for sure. Pro tip: if you don't like crowds- beware, or buy more expensive tickets. But we found the crowds friendly and helpful.

Meydan Racecourse was on our bucket list, it was well worth the wait. It’s an amazing venue . We splashed out in a Paddock View with buffet dinner. Everything was first class. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, ambiance was lovely. We chose Paddock View, which has its own outside seating areas and holds around 25/30 people, food service was open and completely stocked up until the end of racing which was after 10pm, excellent selection, very tasty and well presented. Lovely guy beautifully playing a very fancy violin type instrument, Made to feel very welcome, Thank you everyone for such. Brilliant evening
