Neighborhood: Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.

Calabar is a famous bar in Dubai located at the ground floor of the five star hotel "The Address Downtown". Open every night (except ramadan or some public holidays) with happy hours on drinks (6pm-8pm).
Ambiance is great, service is cool, cocktails are great and food (mainly tapas to share) are excellent (this time we took the Quesedillas, Black pepper beef, and chicken lollipops).
Great terrace also with amazing view on the Dubai Fountain and Burj Khalifa.
Make reservation on the week-end and Thursday night if you want a table because very busy those nights

located in The Adress Downtown, Calabar is a latin themed bar with a spectacular terrace located directly at the dubai fountains oppostie buj khalifa. The roomy terrace is designed for a smooth sundowner accompanied with a surprisingly tasty musical program spanning from latin via soul to more house-oriented sounds. watch out for the "Bar Rumba" fridays with lots of illustre international dj-bookings as the likes of Crazy P, Dj Format, Quantic or Ashley Beedle

The perfect place to go, to get away from the hustle of everyone on the bridge wanting to get a glimpse of the Dubai Fountains. You can enjoy a drink at sunset here, enjoy the Happy Hour deals and get the perfect view to take in the Dubai Fountain extravaganza.
Extremely helpful staff who were more than happy to help us find the best seating for our party to get the best view of the fountains.

I stopped here on a Saturday night after a long night of sight seeing. Me and a friend decided to have a drink and call it a night. We were at the var and the bill came up to 90, so i dropped 100 and handed over the bill. The bartender came back with a 10 and told me that we didn't pay. Upset, i called the manager and the manager came back to us and said we didnt pay. At this point i couldn't believe the way this place operated. First we thought it was strange to have the girls who were "for sale" then the drinks we ordered were warm and not fresh... 100 small shops in the city can make a mint lemonade... they gave me water with lime juice!!!

Thinking it was a bartenders mistake then found out they tried to black mail us into paying 2x for the same watered down drinks.

the valet guy had a better personality then the whole lot.

We went to Calabar for happy hour.
We loved it!
Chilled out, laid back - sitting on bean bags, view of burj khalifa through the palm trees, with good music playing in the backgound. Great cocktails and really good food.

Amazing view, excellent service, good cost benefit, beautiful people. The only think that would add value is having a place to after the bar for clubbing. Fully recommend.

Calabar Lounge is located in the Address Hotel Downtown (not to be mistaken for it's close neighbor, the Address Hotel- Dubai Mall a few hundred meters away). Calabar's outdoor terrace dwarf's the indoor space. Not surprising as it has marvelous views of the Burj Khalifa and surrounding areas. The outdoor area can seat a couple of hundred people on an array of couch's, beanbags and more conventional seating. The drinks menu is expansive and they make great cocktails. As Calabar get's really busy the service suffers and your orders do not come as quickly as you would like. Do not let this put you off as Calabar is one of the coolest bars in town.

Calabar is the lounge bar of the hotel 5 stars "The Address Downtown." It offers breathtaking views of the sunset from the outdoor terrace, and one of the best views of the Burj Khalifa, fountains and Souk Al Bahar. The interior decor is dark wood while outside seating bean bag ecru have their place.

The lounge bar is open from 18h to 2:30 am daily. It offers a number of cocktails and mocktails (alcohol) as well as cold tea house. In the kitchen, a number of tapas are offered at prices ranging from Dhs50-Dhs75.

During my visit, at a very late, we just cast our sights on two mocktails offered for a price of Dhs 30 each. Excellent. Good atmosphere and great view. I would return to sample their tapas.
