The area
Neighborhood: Al Quoz
Al Quoz sits literally at the halfway point between old and new Dubai. At first sight it has little to recommend it: warehouses and factories dominate the area, with some residential areas on the outskirts. Heavy goods vehicles roar up and down the roads and laborers stop at small hole-in-the-wall cafes for a cheap lunch. But it is fast becoming a magnet for art lovers: Alserkal Avenue is a significant contemporary art hub, home to 25 galleries and arts spaces, with ambitious expansion plans. The galleries host exhibitions, talks, panel discussions, auctions, and community events. If you love art, pass by to visit the galleries, it’s a great opportunity to get a sense of art and community in the region and to sit alongside key influencers and artists as they go about their day.

    Best jeweller in Dubai
I’m a returning customer. Deepak took care of us. He was excellent. Considering the limited time we had, he was practical about what we were trying to achieve and worked around it. He’s very accommodating. I was recommended to Monili by a local family friend whose been using them for the past 30 years. They are reliable and accommodating; and you get honest and practical advice. They did an awesome job with resetting my old jewellery and the new ones I purchased.

    Hemant is a true gem!
From the moment we arrived, Hemant and his team were welcoming, friendly and most professional. His knowledge is second to none and his assistance throughout the process was invaluable. Having bought our engagement ring from Passion, we will undoubtedly be returning for our wedding bands in the coming months.

    Help please
Hi guys Myself and my better half are heading to Dubai in June and hoping to buy our engagement ring and wedding bands out there. I've done a lot of research but I'm really hoping someone will be able to help me. Firstly we cant seem to find anywhere that talk about haggling. What should we expect to haggle the price down percentage wise from their opening figure? should we book an appointment in advance? and I've heard great things about Cara diamonds but anyone reccomend anywhere they particularly loved. Thanks a million in advance.

went there the other day with high expectations going to see Cara but with the most disrespectful employee. my wife and I went in there to look for a jewelry but as soon as we walked in most of the workers just stared at us, it took about 5 mins until someone came to us and asked if we needed help. the place wasn't even busy! I guess since we look like young Asian adult and not looking like a "tourist" maybe they didn't take us seriously!! I asked to see a diamond that my wife wanted, but the guy didn't even seem interested of our business. when I asked for the price, the guy kept beating the bush.. then when I told him well just come back because he didn't seem we we're serious of buying, he realized that it was too late with his "customer service". my wife and I then went to Tejori and it was a huge difference with customer service. as soon as we walked in, Hiren greeted us like we we're his friend! thank you for all the services. we couldn't be much happier with our purchase! we will be recommending this place and their other locations throughout the area! don't be fooled by the previous reviews about Cara. go there without any expectations and shop around. I'm guessing Cara's employees think just because they get all good reviews doesn't mean everybody will do business with them. (no wonder Cara has only one store) suggestions to the owner of Cara: tell your employees to treat everyone that walk in your store equally because you will never know who will one day walk in there!!

    Have already recommended!
We were recommended this jeweller by friends who purchased their engagement ring there. We did look around the other stores in the park, for a few hours, but ended up there where we purchased our engagement, and wedding band, and also had a ring made into an eternity ring. They are all absolutely stunning. This was in March 2014, and I am still in love with my rings. I get so many compliments on how beautiful they are. We were under huge time constraints, but they managed to get the rings made before we flew out of Dubai. Their customer service was Obviously far higher than other stores in the park. You didnt feel like they were selling you something, they were there to help you purchase what you wanted. They helped us design our rings, choose the diamonds and were extremely helpful considering we hadn't done this sort of thing before. I have since had the rings valued in New Zealand, where they were valued far higher than what we paid. We have also recommended friends go there, who have since said they were also really impressed with the items they purchased. Our friends who recommended us initially have also gone back to purchase their wedding rings. Seems like a family run business, and more intimate than other stores. I will visit again if I am back in Dubai.

    Question
I bought a ring with emerald but diamonds set in a channel last week before leaving Dubai. I've worn 1 day and not had any accidents and 2 of the "diamonds" have broken. Do I have any comeback and is it safe to post back for repair? Currently waiting on email response from store

    Engagement ring
We had my engagement ring made while we were there for 4 nights. Paid $10,000 New Zealand dollars for the amazing ring. I have just had it valued for insurance purposes and it came back valued at $26,000.

Best Place to Buy Diamonds and Jewellery
The Gold and Diamond Park has 60 shops and is located 75m to the left of the FGB Metro Station. It is the best place in Dubai to purchase your diamonds and gold items and the selection is vast. Not pressured like the Gold Souk downtown. A relaxed shopping experience. You can wander around looking in the windows of the 60 shops. There is room for negotiation but not intense like the Gold Souk. We usually use Calash for our purchases over the last 10 years and Rishi is good at giving ideas and this time we reset my wife's eternity ring with the addition of a good diamond and also had made a white gold bangle and a pendant with a birth stone. All were made in three days as all of the shops have workshops in the building next door. Best tip is if you have any old diamond or other precious stones bring them with you and have them reset in new pieces of your choice. They can be made in two days and are a fraction of the cost of buying new stones. A nice way to recycle family jewellery to new designs and add real value at the same time. Also bring your old gold and reuse this as well. The building is air conditioned and relaxed and there is a good cafe for drinks and meals.

    Great Shopping Centre For Jewellery
My husband and I went to the Diamond Park to look for a ring for myself. The park itself is really nice and very cool. There are over 50 stores there to view a vast array of jewellery, if you don't already have a clear idea of what you want. We enjoyed browsing as none of the shop assistants gave us the "hard sell". We had already read some reviews about a few stores so we concentrated on those. We ended up shopping with Tejori. Back home in Scotland the ring we bought has been valued at 3.5 times what we paid for it! I would recommend doing your research in advance and going with a fairly clear idea of what you want. That way you save time and can spend time on the beach instead of inside - unless you like shopping of course haha. We got a taxi to the Park but there is also a metro stop right outside the building. We went to a lovely cafe in the Park afterwards to have something to eat and a juice, I think it was called More Cafe.

This is a great mall , there is something for everyone here .... There is a lot of Indian wedding jewelry that is interesting to see but not to buy of course , its 22 carat and often gaudy and not to western taste . Look for the more discreet stores and you will find some who deal to more western tastes. Be prepared to bargain the price you see is not what you need to pay , you pay the first price only if you think you are in a department store. general rule is you will get it for 60 to 70 % of the price . be prepared to walk away a couple of times for items you really like , then go back having made your offer them refusing then returning to get the item at the price you are prepared to pay. Thats how it is done here. When they see a westerner they hang on for longer . Arab ladies wanting an item will hang around for hours sometimes days bargaining the lowest price and they do it with pride and confidence. Go on get into it , you can save thousands of bucks on important items.

Whenever I am travelling and wanting to make a purchase I always seek out the malls with the best reputation for fair trading and high standards. The gold and diamond park in Dubai is such a place.

This particular shopping mall offers a huge range of jewellery across the 50+ jewellery stores.

I took my husband there, and left him reading a book in a lovely cafe there, while I visited what felt like all of the stores! I finally went back to the cafe to get hubby and take him to see three particular stores and help me with my purchase of a diamond ring.

We finally purchased from Kaushik in the Tejori store. I am infatuated with my new ring - it is fantastic ! I expect it to be valued in Australia at much much higher than I paid for it.

The mall was easy to get to by taxi, and there is a metro right outside for those who wish to take that.

It also includes what looks like a nice restaurant for those of you who might want to shop then have lunch or dinner.

A visit to the G & D park is definitely recommended if you are buying jewellery in Dubai.

I bought my fiancee's engagement ring from here and proposed to her way up the Burj Khalifa, and she said yes! Phew, haha.

If you're looking to buy a diamond ring and have a huge range to choose from, the Gold and Diamond Park (which is actually a mall) is really the place to do it. There must have been at least 50 jewellery shops that sell diamonds, watches, necklaces, bracelets and so on, so you can find jewellery for yourself or anyone on your list all in one place.

I contacted a few of the main players in advance of our trip, and had some good interactions with them. Narrowed it down to Cara and Tejori, and ended up buying from Tejori as it was not as busy in there and I got more attention. Special thanks to John for the great service he gave me on the GIA-certified diamond and ring.

Overall a very comfortable and convenient place to shop for an engagement ring. It's indoors and air-conditioned, so you can take a break from the heat and feel comfortable while you're browsing. There is also a coffee shop and café if you want to stop and refresh, which I did at one point! As with any jewellery purchase, you can spend a lot of money while you're there if you aren't careful, but the prices in many of the shops are very good, and the service is excellent.
