I had a walk around one hour in this beautiful area.
Every piece of this place is very well cared by designers.
It still needs time to be famous to everyone as I found not so much people in streets. It seems only the people who live around know this place.
The main reason is because Dubai Ain (the big Carousel) which is not operated yet.
Dubai is not a high population city with lots of attractions. Just few hundred meters next to Bluewaters there is JBR which has its own visitors. Bluewaters without Dubai Air has nothing extra to many attractions of Dubai.
So I don't recommend you go there unless you are tried of other attractions and just want to walk in a new street or dine in a new restaurant (which couple of good ones exist there).
We were lucky to walk in Bluewaters on a winter night that the weather was fantastic. Otherwise the hot weather of Dubai don't let you to entertain yourself with such walking.

If you have already visited all tourist spots in Dubai before, and want to try out new places, I would recommend a trip to Blue Waters. Posh and upscale, the complex features a range of retail outlets selling top bands, cafes and eateries, all offering a spectacular view of the Gulf. It also has Ain Dubai which is not yet operative though work is going on in full swing and is said to be the world's biggest observation wheel once it is functional. There is a passage to take a stroll along the water body. We had snacks at an Indian place, and enjoyed the long walk along the promenade lined with ice cream vendors. Truly an attractive venue to spend a couple of hours away from the hustle bustle of Dubai city.

Visited during December. Arrived about an hour before sunset. Easy to get to and car parking was plentiful-busier later we discovered as we left. Strolled over to JBR vía the bridge and back again. Lovely views. When it passed sunset and it was lite up it was particularly beautiful. Plenty of restaurants and cafes if you fancy something to eat whilst there. Definitely worth the trip out to it. Eventually the wheel we hope will be finished to give another dimension to this area.

It have called the Ain Dubai at least 10 times and have been put on hold for 15 to 30 minutes each time over the last 5 days.
Nobody from their sales team answers the phone and nobody answers the email inquiries. In my case it is for a large group request.
I can understand the place just opened to the public but they are clearly overwhelmed or under-staffed. I even went there to inquire in person and I was not given any direct contact details as apparently the sales team does not have a work mobile number.
This is unacceptable that as a corporate client I cannot reach the sales team or get a call back or get my several emails answered.

When I went to Bluewaters parking on 14. Janyary at 9:00 pm, I did not receive any ticket or token at the entrance, I had dinner at the restaurant “un di manche a Paris” and of course I paid my bill. In the restaurant they did not advise me regarding any validation for parking, and since I did not have any parking ticket or token I didn’t ask for anything neither.
As I wanted leave the parking I had a very disappointing surprise that I had to pay 100 dhs for parking without any other alternative, because a long line of cars was behind me waiting to leave the parking and having the same issues like me.
I am really upset with this kind of trap that the management is doing to the normal Bluewaters visitors and customers, I understand that they want to get money for parking, but the management for Bluewaters could choose a legal way, no trying to trap using tricks to take advantage of the visitors.

This area is now very very busy. The new parking system is too difficult for many people to understand, crazy expensive (16 USD for 3 hours) and badly organised. We queued for 20 minutes just to pay and then the car park was totally gridlocked and it took us another 20 minutes to get through the barriers. I feel sorry for the poor security guards trying to keep things moving.

Pathetic experience at Blue waters.
The drone show at 8pm was cancelled. On top of that when we were leaving 20 min before our parking was about to end, there was a long queue at the parking payment station- which were only two in the whole premises. Most of us were unaware that we could pay at exit. Thus because of the long queue we we were in the parking a minute over an hour, and we had to pay double parking fees -which was not our fault.
Even at the actual exit -there was long queue and many were had to pay additional fees as they were not out of the parking area before the allocated time to exit

We visited blue water island on 24th December. It was pleasant trip for us. Enjoyed drone show at 8 pm which was also good. But our horrible experience started when we reached at our car. There was long queues at parking payment. We paid our Parking fees and started our car but unfortunately it was long queues. We were in queues for 45 minutes then I started walking to see why cars are not moving. At the exit gate security not allowing our parking lines but only basement cars. Many people like me shouted then they allowed our cars to move out. Once we reached at exit gate they force fully collected money for extra 1 hour. It was horrible experience. Never visit blue water island forever.
