Meena bazaar is known for asian clothes heavy r simple suits. I did buy 4 outfits and within 24 hours my clothes for ready and perfect.
However certain things in that area you need to be careful and alert.
As soon our taxi stopped group of guys approached us telling us to have a look at this place we kept on telling we wasnt interested when we got the to shop the shop keeper started showing us suits, because i wasnt interested i walked out.
They try to trick you buying herbs for hair loss and start showing pictures and asking to pray for them. We again got stopped this guy started talking to husband about hairloss and what herbs to use and dragged to a shop next thing you know hes putting oils in a bag and charging us 30 diarams. Thats when i shouted and said no we don't want it your wasting my time you was suppose show the herbs not sell them. The guy wasnt happy by then im dragging my husband out if the shop and ingoring him. When we went yesterday back to shop to pick up my clothes the shopkeeper asked did we buy any herbs, i told him what happened and he explained its a joke around here and not to buy anything from them.
You just need to be careful ingore the group of
Guys dont look at them and carrying on walking. Its actually not a bad bazaar you can get clothes cheaper from here compared to the uk.

As soon as we put our first step in meena bazar, we knew its similar to india !!!! Well if you are in dubai and totally dont want to recall any indian memories then you can avoid it but i liked the place as i like bargaining for the goods i buy.

If you have ever done shopping in New Delhi @ SN, Janpath & Lajpat nagar, you'll get the same experience here also.

You can bargain for half of the price infact !!!. You can get watches, perfumes, dry fruits, chocolates here.

If you wana try food then ask someone for Nihal Restaurant. We tried parantha there and it was worth trying. Another place for foodies is Kailash Parvat.

Overall its a nice place for those who wanna have some indian experience in Dubai.

Came across Meena Bazaar with my daughter when showing her around Dubai Creek. Like other people as soon as we walked into the area we were approached by a couple of guys wanting to sell me hair restorer...how we laughed...I’m bald and 60 plus so no chance.
We browsed a couple of shops to try and get my granddaughters some summer clothes but got hassled so much it wasn’t worth it. However, as we were about to leave we found a shop that let us browse with no pressure and we did buy some clothes.
It’s a real shame p because I loved the area with all the Indian influence. These guys just don’t get it, leave us alone and we will spend money!!!!!

Indians will feel instantly at home in this market. We bought lots of dates and chocolates from here.
Be very careful about the scamsters many people have talked about. We went there in the evening and as soon as we alighted from car,we were approached by some pakistanis selling medicines for knee problem and flat belly. With firmness we simply walked on and avoided them.
We had dinner at Kamat's which was ok.
But while going back,we had to walk a very long distance to get a taxi.

Its the best place in UAE to shop Indian/Pakistani traditional dresses - saree,salvar-kurta. The price is reasonable and the variety is immense. Its difficult to get parking and the Bur Dubai area is very congested.

I got a taxis to Meena Bazaar Dubai I was approached by a young man who engaged me in a chat.
The conversation veered towards my grey hair. "Why don't you do something about it? I've a cheap remedy handed down from my grandfather. It has benefited dozens like me. In 45 days your grey will disappear. I want to help because you look like a nice man. Don't pay me anything, just remember me in your prayers."
And what do I need to do?" I asked, mildly interested. “Not much. You have to rub this mixture of herbs in your scalp. People spend so much money on trying to get rid of their grey hair but this costs only small amount. Plus, it has no side-effects. Take down the names of the secret ingredients you'll need and you can make this potion yourself," he said.
I took out my cell phone to key in the names, but except for some oil i couldn't comprehend the gibberish-sounding names of the other items. “Okay, get the oil first. We'll look for the other ingredients later," he said directing me to a nearby supermarket.

As I emerged with a Dh20 bottle of oil, the man led me to a shop that sells herbs and spices.
Inside, he rattled out a few names. I don't know whether anything by those names exist, but the shopkeeper nodded knowingly and pulled out an assortment of bottles carrying what looked like crushed powder and seeds.

After a bit we settled the price at Dh440 each for the two ingredients that would get rid of grey hair.
"See, I told you, it’s a little cost but this will get rid of your grey hair," he said, as he took the oil bottle from my hand and asked the shopkeeper to grind the seeds and pour the ingredients inside the bottle.

The man said I needed one finale ingredient to make this work he took me to another herb shop again the same thing happened but this time the price had gone up to Dh1560

Obviously, there is no way you can call off the deal at this time because you have already spend a reasonable amount by this time the finely grind mix has already been poured into your oil bottle.

The scam is very clever they are all in it

Meena Bazar in Dubai is truly a shoppers paradise After window shopping in Dubai Mall and Emirates malls, you can do some real shopping with your hearts content in Meena Bazar in Dubai It is very easy to reach Meena Bazar by METRO. Al Fahidi and Al Ghubiba stations are very near to Meena Bazar. The Bazar extends over a wide area in many lanes having a large number of shops selling almost everything from mutton/beef/chicken to gold ornaments Gold ornaments seemed to be cheaper than the Gold Souks because of less making charge. Most of the shops belong to Pakistani/Indian owners with Bangladeshi employees Phillipino girls are also seen in big departmental stores All speak good English. While big stores have fixed price, smaller shops entertainh bargaining. We did extensive marketing in" Day To Day" departmental store located in the ground floor of a multi storied building just near tha exit of metro of Al Fahidi Meto.Another store we liked and shopped is" DIrham Express" located on the other side of the located in front another exit of Al Fahidi metro.Dirham express is smaller but marginally cheaper while Day To Day is so big that it is virtually impossible to cover the entire store in one day We went twice! You can buy reasonably good perfumes for as less as 10/15/20 dirhams! If you visit Dubai, do shopping in Meena Bazar and find my suggestions of any worth, please do not forget to give me a helpful vote

I aged 75 came to Dubai on 11/10/2019 along with my brother 73 years old & his wife who is physically disabled. We stayed in Bur Dubai from 11/10/19 to 15/10/19. We had been subjected to extremely bad experience on 14/20/19 in Dubai Meena Bazaar by gang of Asian men possibly Pakistani origin or Indian+Pakistani origin. They are operating near Meena Bazaar. Incident took place on 14/10/19 midday when we went to Gold Souk area first than we went to experience Meena Bazaar. We took water taxi from Gold Souk side going to Meena Bazaar. As we were boarding off out of water taxi on pier on Meena Bazaar side, Asian young men gang between the ages of 25-30 years targeted us. My brother was walking slowly holding her wife arm who she was holding walking stick. One member of gang told us they can help my brother wife to cure knee disability & advised us to write herbs which they spoke incomprehensive words but told my brother to go with him who will assist in buying the herbs in few minutes and make Hardas i.e. prayer in Gurdawara for them. My brother was told that after using four herbs will cure all his wife disability. Members of gang were talking very fast. Firstly one man approached & then my brother was introduced to second man of all the gang & we three were splits up. My brother went along with one gang member to buy herbs. He was taken to first shop & than to second & third shop because all four herbs required to cure disability were not available at any time at one shop. My brother was taken to three different shops. The name of the last shops was MARHABA HERBS TRADING Ltd owned by Mr AZEEM SHAH. At the first shop he paid 40 Dirham in cash. In the second shop bill was increased to 3500 Dirham but shopkeeper did not have facility to process credit card, so he was taken to third shop where he paid first 3500 dirham & then for third and fourth herb he paid another 15200 Dirham. After leaving the shop he realized that he has been conned and swindled with thousands of Dirham . I have learned now from web that this kind of SCAM is going on in Dubai for a very long time & authorities have done nothing to eliminate this SCAM gang operating in Meena Bazaar and shut down the herbs vendor and are operating in conjunction with gang members. Old peoples especially of Indian origin need to be very careful from these gang in Meena Bazaar. These gang target old, disabled and vulnerable visitors without being challenged by appropriate authorities. We left Dubai on 15/10/19 in helpless situation & these gangs are still freely roaming in Dubai Meena Bazaar.
The aforesaid experience has affected my brother seriously mentally. He seems to be broken man, does not want to interact with unknown, can not sleep properly even after a week, wakes up during the night in panic, does not want to go out to do shopping. He broke down very easily and cried lot of times during the day. I am trying to console him & things are improving very slowly.
