Can be more attractive to visitors
May 2019 • Solo
The Yard is a collection of food outlets in Al Khawaneej area in Dubai. The place is far from any public transportation and one needs to use their own vehicle or a cab to come here. The place has been given a village type of feel, with statues of roosters, cows etc.

There is an artificial water body with fountains. Spanning it is a Bridge of Promises where visitors tie locks to the bridge after writing their wishes, hoping it comes true. However, there is little to do here apart from having fast food and taking a brief walk, so one need not travel so far just for this. It can be combined with a visit to the neighbouring Quranic Park.

Just a collection of food outlets

I loved the ambience and open air 'architecture' of the place. Other than eating or having coffee there isn't much to do though. Nice sunset pictures :-)

Interesting location
Oct 2018 • Couples
Spotted the Yard in a magazine a week earlier and thought it looked interesting. It wasn’t until I googled the location that I realised it formed part of another “Last Exit” truck stop experience by Meraas.

Anyway, thought it would be interesting to give it a spin for breakfast last weekend.

The buildings look like something from a country movie, corrugated iron cladding, windmills etc.

We were greeted well and liked the look of the contemporary cafe setting in the front side, we were escorted to the back side of the cafe which was great. Close to the kitchen to see what was going on and also the big glass bifold doors looking out towards the man made lake and gardens.

The interior was modern with glazed butcher tile counters, lots of metal pipe for book cases and metal and timber detailing making for a rustic finish inside an industrial space with lush comfy sofas and leather chairs.

The menu for breakfast is interesting, a few European dishes, Emirati and Indian dishes which is great for such a modern outlet to give a nice choice of flavours of the area.

Coffee was good, not to green and was hot too.

She has Shashooka and was beautiful and rich with perfectly cooked eggs within the tomato base. I had the Marsala Omelet with Chilli and Piratha. Really nice dishes!

The setting outside is great, nice gardens, urban artwork and a couple of other food options and coffee shops to try on our next visit!

Instagram worthy but limited activities and attraction
Aug 2018 • Family
We visited The Yard in August during Eid Al Adha holidays. This place is very far from Dubai's downtown and could be difficult to find without a GPS or Google map. Just like the other Last Exit, The Yard has unique vibe and distinct farm-like feature. The concept is consistent from the car parking, the restaurants, all the way to the toilets. There are also lots of photo opportunities on the man-made lake, love lock bridges, and the stylish huts/buildings in the area. There are a few restaurants and food truck within the complex but a little costly than those in downtown. Other than food and photo opportunities, I don't think there are other activities in the area anymore. All in all though, it's a charming little place that's worth visiting once or twice when you're in Dubai.

Homestead: Stylish decor and below average food
Jun 2018 • Friends
Homestead is one of the proper restaurants that has come up in the Yard which is designed in such a way that it should resemble a farm yard or a trailer park.
The restaurant is simply amazing to look at with extremely comfortable seating and proactive service.
With the decor the expectation of the diner just becomes overwhelming. But the food does not even come close to the effort taken by the operators in terms of the decor. The Mango lassi was not at all sweet(considering mango is in season now), the shakshuka was runny and lacked any flavor, the goat cheese souffle failed to rise to the occasion and the eggs benedict was overdone with the hollandaise sauce resembling mayo. Nice decor, poor food.

One time visit, very far!
Feb 2018
The Yard comprises a rustic courtyard, an organic farmer’s market, a bakery, air-conditioned and open-air restaurants and dining spaces. The place has been designed really well but the downsides are many:
- Very far from the main side of Dubai
- Inaccessible via public transport

Due to above reasons, you will find almost only yourself in such a big area and might feel a bit odd. As I like photography and wanted to explore as a resident on one of the weekends, I visited this place over breakfast with my friends.

Far and not very accessible
May 2018 • Friends
Went here because we saw a video of this place from YouTube. The travel was a disaster for me and my friend because we don't have a car so we had to take public transportation. We took the bus expecting to have some taxis passing by but to our disappointment there weren't any.
Fast forward, we arrived at The Yard and directly went to refresh ourselves. The washroom was okay but i don't understand why there's many mosquitoes. My friend complained to me and she had lots of bites too.
We went to eat at the indoor restaurant that they have and good thing everything was good.
After eating, we went out to check the man madr lake that they have that has a fountain. Pretty simple i might say. The walls surrounding the lake was with wall art. They also have these 2 bridges which has a label of promise bridge and has love locks on it. I'm not sure if we should bring our own locks or someone is selling because we didn't see anyone selling.
Went to walk around to explore more and finally found this wishing well and these 2 guys who has owns a big and small Pony.
They have a lot of food trucks for drive thru and also have seating for those who want to dine.
Its a place that's very nice for pictures but other than that nothing really special. And i must emphasize again the travel going back and forth there for those who don't own a car is really difficult so better to call taxi.
I hope they add more things to do on this place because its definitely gonna attract more people specially when the concept is country side, the exact opposite of the modern Dubai.

Full of smelly fast-food outlets, cars and very crowded. We drove in, took one look, and drove out in horror.

Serene, lots of food option, quirky decor
Apr 2018 • Friends
Another Meeras development, includes food strucks, cafe and a lake. Quirky decor making it interesting and click lot of pictures. There is provision of parking and it the lake is just walking distance from the food trucks. There are two promise bridges and a wishing well for all. It is good to visit from Nov to Apr.
