The area
Neighborhood: Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.

This is a cracking spot for instagram photos. At the entrance, there is an impressive sculpture The Wings of Mexico which is on display in Dubai and quite hard to miss. With Burj Khalifa right in the background this beautiful sculpture is worth visiting if you are in Downtown.

This place is beautiful plaza where adults can sit on benches or cafe and kids can run around or to stairs and look to nice lighted animals, attractions are offen changed, for example in our last stay there was added slide for kids similar as in Hamley’s. So for the rest after chaos in Dubai Mall it is perfect place because of not many people and pleasant things to do.

We visited here twice, it was always crowded, and we could not locate a vacant seat. It is an attractive plaza with the imposing Burj Khailfa as a backdrop, great for photographs or a selfie. Nice place to stroll and enjoy the surroundings and the views.

This a great place to enjoy the Dubai Fountains right at the foot of the immense Burj Khalifa. Of course as expected it is a crowded place with visitors from everywhere but not too crowded to find yourself a good spot over the artificial lake. Also it is highly recommended to visit at night as the weather gets a bit more friendly.

Located next to the Dubai Mall and with the Burj Khalifa as a backdrop, this is an energetic area especially after dark. Great people watching and terrific Dubai Fountain show.

Stunning views! Great place for photographs. Everyone is doing the same! Couldn't see the appeal of the wings statue but everything else with the views is lovely. Worth a stop!

A nice place to chill on a hot afternoon. You can come here by metro. The mall is a few steps away.
I recommend you go there on a working day. It ia less crowded.

Walked out the back of the Dubai Mall into the Burj Plaza. The buildings and architecture is pretty amazing. So much to see.
