Top ways to experience Burj Khalifa

The area

Neighborhood: Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.

Onsite ticket agent is running obvious bait and switch. Website shows packages for 149, 379 an 749 AED. When you arrive to the counter, there are no signs of prices, ticket agent has a small piece of paper he has drawn a picture with only the 379 and 749 packages.

I showed him the website with the 149 and say I want that. His response was 'It is sold out for today, come back tomorrow'. I refuse to pay over $100usd so I check online.

the 149AED package has plenty of availability, and I book a slot for 15 minutes later.

This is a must-do if it’s your first time in Dubai. It’s really impressive. That being said, it’s not without kinks. Firstly tix are really pricey. If you want to truly enjoy the experience without the massive crowd, either go really early, or pay for the top or second top tier tix. You are basically VIP and you get to fast track the Qs. But don’t expect too much from the top 2 tiers because, they say you get treats and refreshments, it’s just coffee, tea juice with a cookie. But the crowd is lesser. You get to sit and enjoy the view. Unfortunately when we were there, it was hazy so it was hard to enjoy a good view. Also what I didn’t like was that they pack you like sardines in the lift. If you are afraid of potential C virus, just wear a face mask. On the whole we have been there and done that, we def won’t be back.

What a shambles! Only booked as our Daughter in laws first visit and thought she would like it as we did in 2014. Over an hour in the queue despite online booking and arriving in great time. No customer service is shown at all, no apologies, no action by staff to stop rude, entitled people thinking they don’t need to join the queue like everyone else.
Too crowded at the top to enjoy the beautiful views, lifts crammed full so very uncomfortable and again an hour & 15 minute wait to get back down!! We’d have rather took the stairs.

Being there was amazing, but I noticed many lack of security issues which makes me frightened when I think over it.
While we were going up, during the short brief on the VIP Lounge the employee told us that there is no time limit to stay there. Means before people going down, it is possible that hundreds of people can join to the crowd they are already at the tower. So hundreds of visitors sent up, while another hundreds are still up there. This is like a endless circle, so dangerous. It was also obvious that no way of monitoring whether visitors have left or still there, they also did not have enough staff available for crowd control or supervision.
There were no explanations in case of emergency how people will go out of the tower.
This is very serious to consider about it.

Pre booked an 11 o clock ticket, had to Que outside the venue for thirty minutes, then took a further hour and 30 from the ticket desk to reach the up lift to our floor. Spent 45 minutes on the views but most of t(his was being pushed about and fighting our way through the Que to get back down, once finished took an hour and forty to get back through the que to the down lift where we was slashed in like sardines.

I would only book this if you really wanted to see the views, do not book this with children as so many was crying, and so many parents having to battle unhappy children.

Never again, this is not the staff's fault as they are only doing what told. But seriously the same complaints on here for the last two years maybe should have learnt lesson by now.

Travelled all the way from the UK for this and on the morning we went to go up it (15/03/2020) the authorities closed it. No warning and all the staff who work there didn’t really know what was going on either, they said they’d arrived for work and were told the attraction wasn’t opening. No indication how long it will be closed for or when it’s likely to reopen. Avoid Dubai!

We visited the Burj Khalifa whilst visiting Dubai. We arrived for our 10am entry, a little late as we had to navigate our way through the mall for the entrance.
The queues were long, but manageable. With face coverings still being enforced, rightly so, in Dubai it was also HOT. We made our way up in a very cramped lift, and reached our destination, only so had about 100+ other tourists which meant windows were lined with people and the gift shop was jam packed so their was little room for manoeuvre. The lift back down to the ground was pretty unimpressive compared to the ascent. A very impressive building, just the execution inside provided for an underwhelming experience.

The.Burj Khalifa is a must see in Dubai. It is one of the tallest building in the world! There are two experiences that you should be aware of when visiting this building. One is the Observation Deck on the 124th floor which most people go to. The other experience is to go to the 154th floor which costs more and is less crowded. Both are great views of Dubai but, the 154th floor is better because it is at night.

Had a 4pm booking. Arrived early. Then had to wait for an hour to get up to the top. Over crowded and clearly no limitation on numbers. Email to customer service re the experience garnered a generic response. Basically they have your money and that is it. Give this a pass.

Badly organised with queue after queue after queue. 2 hrs to get to the top & then 1.5hrs to get down. Numerous lifts needed with lack of instruction only to be hurried along by inefficient staff.

All in all a disappointing experience on what should be a memorable visit to Dubai’s most famous landmark.
