I'm not sure what everyone saw - but aside from the monorail, lots of hotels, lots of construction and traffic what exactly was there to be seen on this palm island. The sidewalk was built so that you could stand across the street and take...More
There’s no point going here to explore unless you have something in mind ie:kayaking, paddle boarding, visiting the aquarium etc. we couldn’t find a common space to get out and stroll. Everything is hotels, constructions and private residences. We ended up booking a cruise and...More
Leaving Jumeirah beach, I quickly moved to the monorail train to go straight to Palm island. The island was shaped like a palm tree. It was a really luxury place for rich people . From the monorail train, I could see Ferrari, many of them....More
I can say it's one of the best man made island ever made in the world. With greenery and Luxurious Resorts around the palm from beginning to end of the palm. Monorail, sea safari , helicopter all of them are possible over here. With best...More
Does not matter where you come from, Palm Islands would surprise you, because there is NOT something like this in all of the world. three wonderful artificial islands, Palm Jumeirah, Deira Island and Palm Jebel Ali, on the coast of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. They...More
Going to the Palm Islands to marvel at the engineering is definitely worth a visit. I would suggest renting a car/driver for a few hours one day and have the driver drop you off so that you can take the monorail from the start of...More

You can reach a station near the palm and then take the monorail to Atlantis Hotel, but it is much easier and better to take a cream colored cab. They are inexpensive. Do not use any other cabs, or vans. They call the others VIP cars, and they are twice the price. Use cream colored metered cabs only. Very cheap.

RSD travel offers discounted group tours. This is the second time that my family went for a group tour with RSD travel. They take good care of everyone from Day1 up to the last day from arrival to departure. Anyone will really have a memorable tour with RSD travel. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
We are planning to spend 2 days in Dubai. We want to hire a tour guide for a private tour on one day and have free time on the second day. We want to identify places that we want to visit ourselves and others where we need a guide. Palm Islands are three artificial islands, Palm Jumeirah, Deira Island and Palm Jebel Ali => which one shall we visit AND WOULD IT BE MORE EFFICIENT TO HAVE A GUIDE THERE? Thanks for the input!

Work on the Jebel Ali Palm stopped in 2008 and isn’t likely to start again any time soon, if at all!
Turtle Island in South Lebanon? (2 Replies)
Hey I've heard rumors that there is an island around the south thats famous for masses of Sea Turtles nesting there. Does anyone know about this, could anyone direct me on how to go there and when to see the turtles? I've also heard that lots of sea turtles nest at the Palm Islands Heritage Site around Tripoli, does anyone know if I can see the turtles nesting there? Thanks

Hi, Sea turtles nest at the Tyre Nature Sea Reserve not far from the Rest House hotel and Tyros restaurant. They also nest at the Palm Island Heritage Site just around half an hour by boat off Tripoli coast, visiting those group of island is only allowed between June and September. Regards
Dubai attractions (ADVICE needed) (5 Replies)
Hello :) My family and I will be in Dubai in June this year (staying two nights). I have done my research and made a plan of how best to spend the two days, however, as it is my first time visiting Dubai I am unfamiliar with the driving distance, recommended time spent at each location and so on.. I would very much appreciate it if I could get some advice regarding how much time we should leave aside for each location, and whether the following plan I have made will work or be too much...More

In my view 2 days is just not enough time to do Dubai and Abu Dhabi - it is at least 90 minutes there and 90 minutes back through some very boring flat desert scenery and that is 3 hours when you could have been doing something else. You can tour Jumeirah Mosque in Dubai at 10am every day except Friday and whilst it is not as spectacular as Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, it won't waste as much of your time. When you describe your hotel as 'Jumeirah location' can you be a bit...More
