What I love about Dubai Mall is the variety of stores and restaurants (classy, food courts, private dine). You'll find inside the mall the famous aquarium/underwater zoo for an entrance fee of around USD80. If you're a shopaholic, you'll have a great time in this mall as world's famous fashion stores can be found here. This mall also is located... More

We visited the Dubai mall on our trip to Dubai for my 40th birthday. I've read that this is the largest mall in the world. It is quite huge and nearly impossible to see everything unless you return on multiple days. There are lots of attractions that you access from the inside of the mall like Dubai aquarium and Burj... Couldn't imagine just popping down there because I need some new shoes, but if looking for a full shopping experience, then doubt you could find better. All the brands are there, the place looks amazing, but its big!! Kids were impressed, but did not fancy being dragged round the shops, although there is an aquarium, ice rink etc and could... More

Ok so if you're pockets are big and deep go into the shops too, but we've got all the seriously high end shops here all vying to prise the AED from your pocket. Well maintained and looked after. Huge variety of eating places, on site entertainment and easy to get to via tram and hop on hop off or taxi.... More

Imagine a big ;out of town complex in the UK - and the multiply the size by 4! The shops range from Tiffanys to New Look ! And the Underwater Zoo is an absolute must. I can only compare to UK and on that basis everything (like everything else in Dubai) is expensive - 2 icecreams (very nice icecreams I... More

Staying in Downtown Dubai

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.
