This is an extremely impressive mosque and is one of the oldest I have visited. Much of the original 10th century structure remains and it has been well restored. The only pity is that it is rarely used.

Personally, I found this mosque the most interesting in Isfahan. Was surprised by the beauty and all the details it has. Took us sometime to find it, especially as we arrived from the bazaar, but the time was worth.

When you see images from Isfahan on Instagram this is the mosque which is most often displayed. No wonder. It’s big, beautiful, breathtaking and absolutely something which can and shouldn’t be missed. Wow.
