We alighted slightly off and got ourselves lost on purpose. While walking we chanced upon this historic location. Many souq around to grab affordable traditional wear. This place is a must come if you're in Balad.

I took a photo of a man passing through the gates while on a tour with Nomad Tours. We visited the old Ballad.

this place is historic and worth only a quick visit when in Jeddah; you can also find some old markets and shops for an experience.

It’s on highway between Jeddah and Makkah. The structure is that of a huge book, representing the Quran, appears to be on a Rehal (Quran/book stand). Its stunning especially at night , the way its lit.

The Makkah Gate, is one of the oldest structures in Saudi Arabia, and has been preserved carefully, probably because of its connection with the Holy City. It provides an interesting subject for photography, especially given the fact that it is at the edge of the bustling Balad market, and still acts, in a way, as a gate for this area.The... More

Since known times, a place from where people would go & come from Makkah after leaving ships for UMRA/ Haj or trade tour. Used to be and still a business hub. Crowded always. It's really beautiful to see and enjoy this historical place
