Nice traditional style architecture, worth a (Quick) visit to see. Area is NOT comfortable to be in for foreigners, but is safe. Always remember that Jeddah isnt a foreign/non Muslim tourist town...

it is a prominent landmark of Jeddah. a place from where people would come and go to Makkah after leaving ships for Haj or Umra.
It is located in the old part of the city and crowded area with a lot of stores, old malls, and street businesses.

It is only a replica of old Makkah Gate and not original
I think the original was erased by the authorities and later they realise to make the replica..

We alighted slightly off and got ourselves lost on purpose.

While walking we chanced upon this historic location. Many souq around to grab affordable traditional wear. This place is a must come if you're in Balad.

It makes a good starting point for a tour of Al Balad district (Jeddah Old City) but as a tourist attraction itself, it is quite plain. The surrounding area is of much more interest.

as the title said, it's huge and located in the middle of motorway road. you'll want to drive yourself to see the best out of it and (maybe you dont wanna do this cuz its quite dangerous) you need to do ILLEGAL PARKING in the shoulder of the road and enjoy your illegal 5 minute time to praise its beauty or maybe took one or two shots. Just remain alert as the police tend to patrol the area using a ordinary car and they might fine you if they see your stupid action. tips from me : bring locals to protect you. We were so lucky to be accompanied by local friend to stay in the car to scan the premises :D

This is an old place in Makkah, which was famous for getting a shared cab to Makkah from Jeddah.

As visited this place 1st to pick someone from here, who came to Makkah for Umra and then had dropped them back.

There is a big shopping area around this place called Baab Makkah.

There are lot of small restaurant nearby.

This place is also famous for a Yemine Biryani , as I came to know from my local friend that it is really tasty and we can get that only in afternoon and it get's sold out in hours in the lunch time.

Hope we will a chance to taste the same someday.. :) ..

Nice place to visit but too much crowded. Take care of your belonging when you visit this place.
