I arranged a day of diving with Desert Sea Divers whilst visiting Jeddah in Nov 2019. Paid 450 SAR for 3 shore dives with all equipment provided. Diving was direct entry from the FAL Resort, and since it was a regular working day it wasn't very busy. Unfortunately I didn't get to try the boat diving as my schedule didn't coincide with the boat. Great visibility and quite a bit to see, and great to be diving in Saudi Arabia!

A first for most of us. Overall, incredible trip. Everyone was super nice, professional and trouble free. Highly recommend this to all divers. They cater to all skill levels. We were with our instructor, so we roamed freely and on our own schedule. The wreck dive is a must. Especially, to check of your first wreck dive after your cert.

The organisation is efficient and welcoming and the boat set-up excellent. There can be an interminable wait for the coastguard depending on their mood. We went out to a far reef to a wreck. Buddies were assigned but then there was a decision to go as a larger group - all thirteen divers. This was far too many. A good bit of the dive was spent waiting and there just was not enough to see. The second dive, exactly the same thing happened. It was not a memorable day at all. There just isn't much down there. But then again, there might have been had we not been playing follow the leader'.

I've been regular customer with DSD for over eight years now. Very organized operation and they try their best to keep it that way. Unfortunately some delays might occur sometimes but mainly due to late arrival of guests. You need to be lucky to get reservation, do not book any flights or cars before they send you email with booking confirmation. The website reservation might be misleading sometimes as it gives impression that your request is confirmed one. Also important to note, Jeddah unfortunately (and strangely) still lack diving operators. This is the only one I could find back then and still till this date. I know others exist but that require knowing people who joined trips with them. Online search return only DSD. Despite that, their prices still not changed over the years. DSD runs boat trips only during the weekends (FRI and SAT), their staff are very helpful and trying their best to charm your trip. To join the trip you need passport or resident ID together with your dive card. You can pay cash or using card. Boat normally depart around 8:30 but would be good to show at shop 7:30 to give time for finalizing equipment rent and paperwork. Divers, snorkels and just passenger can join those trips.

The desert sea divers are a very professional, well equipped and smoothly streamlined organization for snorkeling and scuba diving activities. I've been dealing with them since 2009 and they never fail to impress me every time.
