Why the accomodation during Winter is so expansive? (9 Replies)
I just found out that the price of hotels in Luang Prabang during "winter" time is doubled even tripled compared to the summer time. It seems not to be the case of any other southeast Asian country. So does that worth the money to go during the winter? And does anybody know a decent Mekong cruise with accommodation on board, other than the "Luxury on the Mekong"(This one seems to be exorbitantly expansive)?

Its all about demand and supply. I guess there is more demand in the winter due to better weather and hence rates go up... If they can make more money they will charge more money! Just get your bookings done early....
