Not a good experience at all, I appreciate that this is the way these people live, and I realise that we were the ones with the problem for not being able to "embrace" the experience but this was just a bit too much.
What sets this village apart is that it sells whisky and rice wine that souvenir shops in Luang Prabang don't sell, and it's on your way to Pak - Ou Cave.
Other than that, it's another big group of souvenir shops.

The whisky village was more interesting for the weaving and scarves than for the whisky. Two families run the village store and take turns making and selling whiskey and weavings. We bought several beautiful table runners, but no whiskey.
Like most people we stopped here on the way past when going to the caves. There's a still where they distill spirit from fermented sticky rice. Is there nothing they don't do with sticky rice?
