We came up to this small temple as the first thing that we did when we arrived in town. The climb is quite steep but should be OK for anyone of reasonable fitness. The tranquillity at the top was lovely and there are also views...More

As you climb up Mount Phusi, you come across this temple. It's small and easy to find. It's less decorative than the stupa at the top.

I went to Wat Prah Buddhabat early in the morning. The climb to the top is not too hard but I would suggest doing it during the cooler part of the day. The temple itself is nice and it offers a balcony overlooking Luang Prabang....More

Half way up Mt Phu Si from either the South or East, one will come across small wats, one of which protects the Buddha's footprint. Nothing much to see, except that its a good stop for some great views.

This wat can be reached while climbing up Mount Phosi. It has a shrine containing Buddha's footprint. Views here are North across the Mekong over the airport so you can view sunrise from here.

Entering from the road, you climb some rather steep stairs bordered by Nagas, snake like figures and arrive above the town. The temple is famous for its shrine which legend has it, contains the footprint of Buddha. Young monks, who all speak English, are happy...More

One of the first things you pass if you are walking up Phousi Hill. The Wat's biggest plus point is the balcony, with a view just as good as at the top but without the crowds. Note - you can see sunrise but not sunset...More
