This is a permanent market for locals, not for tourists.
It's two stories high, and the first floor has all the things you'd buy at a supermarket or hardware store, from groceries, clothes, and daily necessities to tools.
The second floor has about 10 accessory stores, and about half of them are vacant.
It's fun to just wander around and have a look.
But actually, there isn't much for tourists to buy. I bought some men's trousers, but they were the wrong size and the button holes were missing, so it was a mess.
There is a parking lot at the front entrance where you can park your motorcycle or bicycle. There is an attendant there, so if you hand over 2000k, you will be given a wooden talisman.

This market is a kilometre or two outside town. We were dropped off there but easily walked back. If you want to see a real, working market, selling everything you could imagine, go for the experience. Very few stall holders speak English.

One of the many open air markets in Luang Prabang. Here is where the locals buy their food, tools, clothes and everyday essentials. This place will give an insight to how the people of Laos live, their living standards and what they eat. Navieng Kham Market (not listed on Tripadvisor) located next to Kiridara is another absolutely wonderful open air market to experience how the locals live.

This market is just outside town. Its meant for locals and there was nothing of interest to me. In Luang Prabang a visit to the night market, morning market and a walk down Sisavangvong road is all one needs to see or buy the local products. Not a must see at all.

Good sized typical Asian market on the outskirts of town…the usual clothing, shoes, electronics and whatnot, household items and plenty of produce and proteins. Nice to stroll through for an hour or so. Prices reasonable and negotiable.

This market is a good 30 minute walk away from the tourist area, but is worth the walk because items are a lot cheaper here, being the main market for locals. Don’t expect money changers in this area though, although there is a bank with ATM across the road.

We were lucky to visit the local market that most restaurants uses. Its quite big and very pretty, showing you most of the local and other more international ingredients. We went with a guide from the cooking class at BambooTree cooking classes and restaurant (check my review there). All merchants line up there products with beautiful effects. I wouldnt have been there by myself but with a guide, it was fun.

The Phosi market on the outskirts of Luang Prabang is a treat for the senses, though it was hard to see the pig embryos apparently removed from their mothers' wombs and used as food by some Lao people. Is this any worse than Westerners eating brain, sweetbreads, or tongue? The fruit and vegetables are freshly picked and sold by the farmers' wives it would appear. The greens glisten and observers can almost visualize the gardens where they were picked that morning. Many kinds of rice of course. Immaculate and easy to navigate. Thanks to our leader from the Tamarind Cooking School for taking us to this special market!

It was quite interesting to see what do locals get food and clothes wise. I was unfamiliar with half of the things displayed but that is the reason I enjoyed strolling around and discovering it all
