From my Guest House in LP, I noted several of many beautiful Buddhist Temples located near each other. One of them is this temple. Entrance is free.
There are several buildings in the compound in addition to this temple.
All are with beautiful, intricate, with artistic facades and of course, statues of Buddhas. Highly recommended to visit.

Actually, I visited this Wat in the evening, in the dark. It was lovely. Everything was softly lit so you could look carefully and at leisure at the lovely carvings and applied decoration. There is a lovely standing Buddha of not inconsiderable height.
You will doubtless stumble across this Wat whilst wandering around town in the slightly cooler evenings.

This local temple took us by surprise! It’s in the local town of Luang Prabang. The entire town is a UNESCO site. Full of vibrant markets, massage shops, cafes, restaurants, and clubs. The night markets are amazing! So much to choose from. Extremely safe to move around in the night too. Dinner over looking the MonKong River.
This Temple is a must see! It’s open every day. You can freely walk around, sit & meditate, no one will bother you. Pictures are allowed everywhere but keep far away from the Monks who are doing daily chores and prayers. Respect their way of life and observe.
We loved taking our time taking in the surroundings and observe the way of the Lao people and the monks. Just outside the town, you can explore waterfalls, limestone caves, cruise on the river, hiking trails. So much to do in this tiny town, with its humble locals and traditions.
We also did the Alms Giving Ceremony at 430am.
This is a must!!!
This was our 98 Country and we were so happy with our experience.

Picturesque Wat and standing Buddha highlight this temple near Wat Xieng Thong...on main road. Worth a few pics and short shop when traipsing thru Old Town LP.

One of the 5 most beautiful temple in Luang Prabang. Most of the visitors can say they mostly look alike but interesting fact is - when you visited all of them you start to notice small differences witch makes then unique.

Wat Sensoukaram has a dazzling appearance created by an intricate gold work overlay. Built in 1718, it is simply not to be missed. Luang Prabang is a jewel and this Wat is one of its principle gems. Not to be missed.

The alms giving for the monks is just outside this temple and if you are going for alms giving then visit the temple either before or after alms giving. We did both. Before alms giving everyone is busy outside and it was the perfect time to visit the temple without any crowds at all. Totally peaceful in the early morning dawn. After the alms giving we went back to visit the temple just as the sun was rising. A really beautiful temple with the standing Buddha

So much to see and do here but absolutely don't miss opportunity to observe and photograph the temples. Peace and serenity in one spot!

I found this place by accident as well after i finished lunch at Tamnak Laos, it's almost the end of the street but i would say this is the quiet area where you can see monks taking their worship lessons and praying, and you can get really close to how their life looks like, there is a primary school near here as well,
its open and i didnt see anyone selling tickets.
recommend this place .

Being one of the most popular temples to visit it becomes clear why. The building and architecture is amazing and the history inside is fantastic. You will not be disappointed with a visit to Wat Sensoukharam. Well worth a visit.
