Spend a morning on ourLIVING RICE FARM,Come and let us show you how rice is...

Spend a morning on ourLIVING RICE FARM,Come and let us show you how rice is grown on our farm, experience the life of a farmer and try your hand at some of the activities. Or just view it all from the comfort of our traditional Lao rice house balcony, which is surrounded by rice terraces and our organic vegetable farm. All the family can join in and there are great photo opportunities.

Our converted rice barn offers simple but comfortable accommodation for two, overlooking rice fields and mountains. Relax on the terrace and sample some of our home-brewed rice wine, walk to the ruined temple through our rice farm, be pampered with a massage then have afternoon tea, visit the local weavers who make our farm outfits before joining our farm family for a game of petanque or rattan ball!

Watch or join in the preparation of the Lao dinner then dine with our farm family before you retire for the night (maybe after a Beer Lao or two?). Wake up to a brand new day and a typical Lao breakfast before joining the Rice Experience for the morning

Laoli is an excellent and charismatic guide with fantastic English skills. You will learn the 13 steps of rice farming, right up to the end where you'll get to eat and drink the rice products. A very informative tour that makes you realise just how difficult rice cultivation is and how lucky we are in the West to just be... More

This was part of my tour package and Ia m certainly glad that it was. Thanks to our guide Long ( 10 stars to him and his delivery of the information), we all had a truly remarkable time, learning all about rice farming as it is still carried out in Laos and many other parts of Asia. You can plant,... More

We did the half day morning program as a group of 6 which was the perfect size. Our "guide" Lee was awesome!! He was very knowledgeable about the rice, spoke great English, answered all our questions and made the day fun! We were able to try the rice wine and other rice made products at the end of the program... More

My two daughters (9 + 12) and I went today and they haven't stopped talking about it. The staff are wonderful and the activities very hands on. We were involved in all the growing aspects and rice food preparation, but not the cooking. We just got to eat what had been cooked for us (yum). It was a wonderful experience... More

While the experience overall is both really fun and interesting, knowing that the proceeds and benefits are enjoyed by the local community make it even more worthwhile. A really fun few hours that are guaranteed to make you consider every grain of rice in a different way.

Some of these experiences could be average but this one was so exciting, interesting and unique at the same time. Our guide Mr. Chili made it special by his enthusiasm to communicate his knowledge of rice production. Great pictures we toke and memorable souvenir to take home.

Our family of 5 ( 2 Adults and 3 Children - aged between 11 and 7) had a blast at the half day rice experience. Our guide walked us through the entire life cycle of a grain of rice. Each step was informative, and so much fun. Our children have not stopped talking about this amazing experience. Would highly recommend.

My family (2 adults and 2 12-year olds) visited Living Land for a half day experience as rice-farmers. This is a "must do" if you visit Luang Prabang! Our guide/host Chilli - was so funny and good, and we got to try out all the 13 stages in rice-farming. Both the younger and older loved it! Can reccomend it to... More
