On our last day in LP we decided to both book a massage at the Palm Tree just situated over the river from where we were staying at the Belle Rive Hotel. Excellent choice.. we walked along the bamboo bridge to be greeted by the Tuk Tuk driver and 2 minutes later we were escorted to Palm Tree Spa. On arrival staff were lovely and welcoming and confirmed what spa requests we had ordered. We were shown to our rooms outside with lovely music playing. The masseuse was a nice guy very polite and excellent (I had a full body scrub which was lovely) it was my first massage and it was so relaxed and he was a great host. My wife was next door and she had a foot type massage and said it was great. Afterwards we were given Tea and then I showered and then we used the pool facilities and had some food. Thank you to the 2 masseurs and to the guy on reception (apologies I forgotten names) all 3 were excellent and we are contemplating coming to stay here should we be back. Thanks team the staff are excellent 🙏🏻

First off, getting to the spa from the hotel is quite an event: boat trip across the Mekong, climb up the bank to be met by a driver for a short tuk-tuk ride to the spa.
We hung out by the pool area for about an hour before our massages. The pool and smaller bathing areas were nice - not really heated but refreshing.
We had the compress massage - and it was amazing.
I had been getting regular massages throughout my trip due to a back injury. This massage not only relaxed my muscles but also realigned my maladjusted spine. Truly therapeutic!
And to round out a wonderful afternoon - after refreshing tea, they gave us a lift back to our hotel.
A great way to spend an afternoon in Luang Prabang!

Dear Kzb,
It was our pleasure to welcome you at our Palm Tree Health Spa. Thank you for choosing us and for taking the time to write these kind words! We are delighted to hear that you had such a splendid time. We will make sure to pass on your compliments on the compress massage to our staff, as this is one of the more complicated treatments and it is rewarding to see that our training is paying out. How good to hear that it was not only relaxing but also therapeutic for you!
For your information, our pool has a temperature of 32°c and we will soon start to heat it, as the mornings can already be really fresh in this season.
Again, thank you for your review, we are so glad you enjoyed your time here.
We look forward to welcoming you back soon,
kind regards,
Mr. Lar Phonchaleun

Affiliated with the Mekong Riverview Hotel, you access the spa by crossing a bamboo walking bridge where an electric car is waiting for you. We had deep tissue oil massages which were the best we’ve had in Asia to date. The women were gentle and caring and the massages were strong and professional. If you appreciate a GOOD massage, do not miss this place

This place is nice but a little walk away from the hotel. The massage therapists were very sweet and we enjoyed our very relaxing massage 105 minute massage, however, it was not deep tissue, which is what we booked. Upon arriving, we were asked to fill out information about our preferences such as how much pressure we want and what areas to avoid or concentrate on. We asked for focus on upper back and shoulders but that was the area with the least attention received. Also, we asked for deep pressure but what we got was pretty light. I think that the host did not communicate correctly our preferences to the massage therapists (who do not speak English) as we got exactly the opposite of what was requested.

Dear Annas,
Thank you so much for your visit at our Palm Tree Health Spa. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your massage, but at the same time would like to apologize for the mix up. There seems to have been some miscommunication between our manager and the massage therapists. We are constantly improving the spa experience for our guests and reviews like these help us find out our weak spots. We are looking into the communication right now and working on ways to improve the initial form (i.e. we're translating it into Lao for our therapists). However, we would also like to emphasize that our guests can always give immediate feedback to our therapists / our manager if their experience is not meeting their expectations! The direct feedback is always more helpful than a written review at a later point of time. That said we really appreciate your words and we'll make sure to improve these processes.
Again, thank you for your visit and we hope to have you back some time,
kind regards,
Mr. Lar Phonchaleun

Walked in to this relaxing spa by chance after a long day city tour trip. Booked for a Lao massage and it was excellent, the therapist was very professional and the treatment room has a great atmosphere. Will definitely return again for my next trip to Luang Prabang.

I chose the relaxing oil massage and it was incredible! Probably the best massage of my life. The therapist spoke excellent English, had a very soothing style and gave an incredible massage. She asked the right questions to make sure I was comfortable. I would absolutely recommend this massage to anyone visiting Luang Prabang.

They don’t need another excellent review but I can not help sharing the joy. I had a 105 minute Thai massage from Ms Do and she knows every pressure point perfectly. It was exquisite- just too short. Yes, do the full experience- boat ride over there and short walk- I took the foot bridge back. Did I mention it cost $40? Heavenly!
