This is a visually stunning mosque from the outside and the inside. Its simple almost flat dome structure is very non typical of mosques but this is really where this sets itself apart from the others. Look into the history and how it was built, very good collaboration with the Turks and the Pakistanis.
One thing you'll note inside is the vastness of space, the thousands of small holes (you'll know what I mean once you've seen it) and different galaxy type effects on its ceiling. You'll also notice that there are no beams anywhere and this is where the magic of this design comes from. A must see, not far from Defence

We went to see this mosque as had read a lot about it. Unfortunately it was closed due to Covid. Spoke to the secuurity guy and explained we had come from abroad and really keen to see inside. He kindly let us in and so we were the only ones inside the grounds.
The grounds of the mosque are of beautiful white marble with large water feature but without water. Some interesting facts about this mosque: three is not a single pillar in its build and some acoustics trickery means if you speak at one end you can hear at the other end. Finally it is apparently the largest single dome mosque in the world and can house upto five thousand worshippers for prayers.
Glad we got a chance to get inside

Masjid e Tooba is located in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, and locally known as the Gol Masjid. It was built in 1969 in Defence Housing Society Karachi. It is often claimed to be the largest single-dome mosque in the world. It is also major tourist attraction in Karachi. Masjid e Tooba is built with pure white marble. The dome is 72 meters in diameter and is balanced on a low surrounding wall with no central pillars. It has a single minaret standing 70 meters high. The mosque is the 18th largest in the world with the central prayer hall having a capacity of 5,000 people.

In phase -1, of Defence Housing scheme Karachi, this fantastic landmark attracts the visitors of Karachi being clean, secure and revered place of worship for Muslims. The place is open for visitors of all faiths.Regular 5 times prayers are held here, where one can find only 3-4 ques (Saff) of congregation but on Fridays it is always full to its capacity. With very huge dome shaped mosque has very good sound system for sermons & prayers and beautiful but simple, grand, composing look from inside as well outside. It has small courtyard & fountains ,while on entering the gate has two places for ablution, one on either side. The place is suitable for male visitors only.

No photos allowed inside! But life really is about living the moment. It's a mosque so it's free. We went on a quiet afternoon so the whole mosque was pretty empty. Also we weren't allow to go inside the mosque, but we were still able to see the inside from the entrance which was enough to impress anyone. It's basically a giant empty dome. I think it was design to fit as many people as possible so the whole area was made to maximize capacity. As a result, it feels very spacious and daunting impression like you were actually in a giant's home. But because everything is so pristine white, you feel as though you are invited and welcomed. Anyways, this is definitely one of the must see places in Karachi.

Tooba Mosque located in Defence, Karachi is beautiful place of muslim worshipping/prayers. its special as its standig on a single large tomb. The mosque was built in 1969 keeping acoustics in mind so that a person speaking inside at one end of the dome can be heard at the other end. this makes it special !
