This bazaar is well worth a visit. You need to witness the frenzy of activity to believe it. Shopping, eating or just watching the locals go about their business its an eye opener.
There is a tomb somewhere which you will only find when you get lost cos no local has a clue where it is! Story goes that Anarkali was a woman who worked as an escort and is said to have had an affair with Crown Prince Jahangir, the son of then Mughal Emperor Akbar.
So try to find the tomb as its worth a visit.
For foodies, there is a spot selling the most insane chole bature which is definitely the in Lahore.

Its one of the oldest market (bazaar) in Lahore where you will find all sorts of stuff from eating to dresses and home decoration stuff as well. Here you cannot drive through, since the path way is not wide for cars. You will have to park the car outside the market and then you will have to walk through it.

Anarkali Bazar is oldest place in Lahore. It is located on the Mall Road. Anarkali is divided into two sections old Anarkali and new Anarkali. In old Anarkali Bazaar there are Food Street and new Anarkali there are different clothes, jewelry, books, etc. Everything is available for everyone in very affordable prices. I recommend this place for all ages.

We took a Rickshaw and got off at Food street in Anarkali, We took one look and jumped straight back into another rickshaw to get us out of there. Why?

Well one look around and it was filthy, dirty, full off too many people and it didn't feel safe for my wife and children so I got them out of there.

The food is outdoors and I don't know how anyone can eat it as there is so much dirt and pollution that goes into it.

Anarkali might have been good at one time but I will never visit this place again.but rather go to other beautiful areas, such as MM road in Gulberg, Fortress stadium, Emporium Mall and much more.

when I was planning to go to Lahore, everybody told me to visit Anarkali Bazaar and when I was disappointed. Anarkali is an old bazaar but you want to local breakfast, then visit this area in the morning, you will find huge rush, otherwise nothing special.

This Bazaar is spacious and has everything!! The fact that it is oldest and historical bazaar which lets you pass by and find every shop without being lost inside. Most brands operate in this Anarkali bazaar, but not every brand. However, what you will find will be very very satisfying and enough.
There are many parking spaces in the parking lot, and the Bazaar is very easily reachable by bus. We absolutely loved this Historical bazaar and it is definitely much crowded than other Bazaar.
