Visited this temple with a local friend of a friend who lives in Mandalay. As usual, take off your shoes and wear something long – you can borrow a longhi for a small sum (1000 Kyat) if you need. An interesting working temple that houses...More

This is a sacred place for the local. Tourist can have a great experience of the local devotion and culture. Though the Mahamuni statue is magnificent, but I enjoyed more by watching the local visitors and its religious community.

Go to gold beating district first and see how they beat the gold. Thats really interesting! You can buy a few leaves for not much money. Then, if you are a man, you can stick it on a 2000 year old Buddha to make him...More
