This rather hidden 'museum' was the residence of Greek poet Kavafis and is definitely a must for Greeks and poetry lovers. It´s surely thrilling to walk around the house where K.P.K. wrote his poems and spent his days and nights in his beloved Alexandria...

I read "Ithaca" in English when I visited and then museum curator read it in Greek. It was a very special visit for me and I am grateful the place was open. Thank you.

How could we be visiting Alexandria and not pay a visit to Cavafy’s house! It is way too interesting especially if you are Greek. A place of pilgrimage even before its transformation into a museum, Cavafy's last home is considered a "must" for all visitors to Alexandria. The Museum contains a wide range of bibliographical material, translations of Cavafy's poetry... More

Nothing to see, it's just an apartment of the cavafy, which was turned into a museum after he passed away, the apartments contains belongings and book of cavafy, nothing interesting to see unless you were a fan of cavafy and his work, if you have no idea who that person is, then I don't recommend a visit to his place

I had been trying to find this place on several occasions in previous visits to Alexandria. It's in Raml area in Cavafy for flat. The Greek consulate and community in Alexandria started the project with Greek government financing it and foreign minister opening the museum. It's worth a visit

If you are into the history of Alexandria and history of literature, Cavafy's apartment is a place worth visiting without any further justifications. No matter that the exposition is a bit outdated and the aprtment is a bit dusty, it still holds spirit of the Poet.

The museum, like the Alexandria itself, is evidence of the faded glory of what was once the most cosmopolitan city in the Mediterranean basin. As Cavafy is a favorite of mine, our visit was a bit of a pilgrimage for me ... and worth it.

The museum includes some rooms of Cavafys house and some staff and books of the great poet. It is located in a narrow road at the centre of Alexandria! It is small but deserves a visit to see the place where the poet spent his last 25 years! As a Greek I enjoyed so much my visit to this place... More
