The palace was once the main residence of King Farouk of Egypt. Today the palace and its gardens are a property of the Egyptian presidency and are not open for the public. However, the palace is nice to see from outside and is nice for taking pictures.

Approaching the King's Palace you pass through the large public park called Montazah Palace Gardens. This used to be the gardens of the palace but is now open to the public to use. Lots of palm trees and... More

Another amazing area of Alexandria, the parks surrounding King Farouk Palace were well maintained and beautiful on the shore of the Mediterranean. Not a must do activity but nice as a conclusion to the drive along the corniche.

We just admired the palace from the street. It is located at Montaza garden. The story behind: King Farouk ruled Egypt from 1936 until the revolution that brought Gamal Abdel Nasser to power in 1952. The King, of course, was intended to be like his counterparts in countries such as Iraq and Jordan, where royal families installed after the withdrawal... More

The palace is one of the nicest architecture in Alexandria, owned by the late King of Egypt. Now its the presidential palace with no public access.

Alexandria is quite a busy city, and beautiful just like the other major ports of the Mediterranean. The palace is well guarded and only the grounds open to public.
