NOTE: This show is the same as the Luxor Light Show... so take a look at my review there—it was a cool way to spend the evening.

Just to be clear, I just reviewing the light show. The Karnak Temple in day is the best thing in Luxor. However, the light show is a disappointment. Just a bunch of dancing lights repeating themselves, with a loud and very dramatic 1950's style commentary, which does not tell you much. The tour guide is basically your driver that takes you there and back. They have no value add other than the transportation. I would recommend just skipping this experience altogether.

I tried to find a NASCO Tours listing but only found various tours of theirs here on TripAdvisor, so have included my review under this particular tour. We booked, through the Luxor Hilton, a tour over the course of three days that had us see the sights we particularly wanted to see in the Luxor area. This was a private tour, just my husband and myself, allowing us great interaction with the guide and the ability to determine exactly what we wanted to see--and not see. Our guide was, simply, phenomenal. Her name was Nermeen and should we come to Luxor again, we couldn't imagine using anyone but her. We had many guides on our trip--from Cairo to Aswan and in-between--and no one came close to Nermeen. What made her special? Well, instead of just reciting dates, she told us the stories that make up the history of whatever we saw on a particular day. And any question we had she was delighted to answer. We asked for a female guide--wanting to give opportunities to more working women in Egypt--and were just delighted that we were lucky enough to be paired up with Nermeen. It's wonderful, of course, to see all of the amazing sites in Luxor, but there's another level of appreciation and understanding that you get when you have such a fine guide!

We did about 5 tours total in our stay in between Cairo, Giza & Luxor. Without a doubt! In my mind the best tour guide we came across and how I had wished I met him first so I could have solicited him for ALL my tours. Unbeknownst to me this gentleman not just gave us a tour and explained as if it were his job ... But he immersed us in a experience and treated us no lesser than if we where his own flesh and blood! *ADEL El Assad* +20 122 348 8849. He was passionate in his teachings and proud in his demeanor!! Highly recommended!! - Carlos Lugo
