Really big museum, you can find here alot of stuffs from Romans and geto-dacs history and can find a lot of interesting facts about Aeggysuss the old name of Tulcea, which in the past was the most important city in the Dobrogea.
The museum is the proof of the importance this area once had. It exhibits a lot of old objects, from neolithic pots to roman columns and greek coins. It's a delight for ancient history lovers.

For a mere 7.5 lei you can see some amazingly well-preserved artifacts taken from 5 or 6 different area sites. There are explanations in English at some exhibits, French or German at others, Romanian at all.

Could not believe we were the only people visiting this museum on a lovely Saturday. It is an amazing, extremely comprehensive, and clearly set out presentation of the history of the Tulcea region. The English text was very much appreciated.
