A simple walk up to the monument which gives views of the less than spectacular town of Tulcea. Would be a good place for a sunset, but it's always going to be let down by the sight of the town below.

The monument is located on the Hora Hill. Other attractions near by are the History Museum and Aegyssus Fort ruins. The views from the top are nice.

The Monument of Independence is one of the main attractions of Tulcea city (Romania). It is located on top of Hora hill where you can also find the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Aegyssus. The Monument was erected as homage to the heroic soldiers who fought to free the country from the Ottoman rule in 1877, when Dobrogea region was brought back to Romania.
