While I wouldn’t make a trip to Braşov just to visit this paved path along the medieval protective city walls, it is a must-see when you are already in the Old City. The running brook, archways, paved path, and benches make it an enjoyable respite away from the pace of the city. Most sites are locked up, but worth walking around— the “black” tower, the white tower and the door to the catacombs. I came here again and again simply to hear the running water. Simply stop and enjoy where nature meets history.

Built between 1515 and 1521 the Graft Bastion - part of the former fortification system of the medieval city of Brasov. It is a 2 floored bastion built to support the fortification system of the city - 4 m thick walls at the base it made the connection with the White Tower - that was situated outside the city walls and provided safe passage tot the towers garrison in case of need via an extendable system of leaders.
Currently is in bad shape - like the majority of landmarks I've visited in Brasov (that were parts of the fortifications of the medieval city ) - meaningless and ugly graffities are to be seen on this bastion also and I don't understand why in city like Brasov this hooligan acts are tolerated by the local authorities.
The Bastion is closed - only the outside you can see - and its in bad shape - used to be a time when you had an expo on the 2nd floor that you could visit - not anymore as we found out.

Short walk on the outside fortress walls. The tower was part of the city's fortifications since the beginning of XVI century.
I believe it was connected to the White tower located just up the hill .Now we could visit the small museum featuring some weapons of the era and documents.
Short 15 min.walk around city fortifications along the creek.

'Behind the walls' as that entire area is know, is part of the city's history. This is one of the 8 initial strongholds, and one of the 3 still standing as they were when the citadel was erected. It belonged to the guild of the saddlers, and it was meant to be a bridge over the canal. You can visit the rooms inside, that host exhibitions about the history of the city and the citadel, as well as old weapons and the likes. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you are in the area, as other historical places are located less than 10 minutes away.

A very old bastion that was part of the defensive system of the old city. Not very impressive, as structure. In addition, it can't be visited, it's closed to visitors. So, the only thing that you can do is to stop for 5 minutes and take a couple of pictures. From this point starts a stone staircase that goes up steeply to the White Tower/ Turnul Alb, another old structure from the former defensive system, also another disappointment for tourists, because it cannot be visited either.

The street where this could be found is called "behind the walls" :) Its not so obvious, you have to look after a little brook in order to find this place, but it is worth the effort.

This is one of my favourite spots in Brasov!
It's a bit hidden, you have medieval walls and a small, lovely stream and you can take a nice walk in any season. The atmosphere here is different. :)
Last time I visited I discovered some well made murals.

The path to this bastion is very nice, with scenic views. Inside, we can see a museum with only two rooms, but from here, you can go up to White Tower.

It's a pedestrian area, along the river surrounded medieval atmosphere without interruptions of transport noise or busy tourist streets. You must climb to the upper tower and catch a nice view, be careful when it's wet weather the stairs are really slippery.
