Instead of walking at the main pedestrian lane or Republic Street, I turned right and walked to the smaller street.
This is how I found this church. I enjoyed the smell of the fresh flowers and plants used as decorations at this church. There are the Stations of the Cross plus several statues of saints.
Said my prayers and took several pictures here.

This church has a long history with some elements dating back to 1500 BC. Restored between the 16-18 centuries there is an old Gothic doorway and Baroque influences within the church

this church is situated in Sfantul Ioan street,which now became a pedestrian area ; it is a small but very interesting church in the Old Town which was presumably founded as a Franciscan ( catholic) Monastery in the 16 the century ; on the outside wall near the entrance there is a curicified Jesus in natural size which is unique in town and became somehow a symbol of the Old Town ,but as it is in a side street,I'm not sure how many tourists are seeing it; during the Lutheran Reformation of the church,the Franciscan nuns fleed the city and after returning they have been permitted to have their own Catholic church,which is until nowadays a Catholic church; the church is dedicated to John the Baptizer,hence the name of the street ,Sfantul Ioan or Saint John street ;

During a walk through downtown Brasov we also passed the Franciscan Mănăstirea. The rather small Franciscan church was open, so we looked at it briefly.
