Pray that an earthquake doesn't find you while climbing those stairs. Because you can't even turn away to the other direction. Nothing happens inside. In January it was colder inside than outside. It would be great if you could find something interesting hapening inside

The Tower of the Council is a place to start or to end a journey in Sibiu as you can learn many things about its history and as well admire the beautiful architecture from the top. Being not only an important landmark (and often being confused with the other beautiful tower in the Old Town, the one of the Lutheran... More

Between the two squeres in Sibiu is this tower that you don't must miss. It is cheap (2 lei) to visit and deserve. It have 7 levels I remember and at every level is a little interesting exhibition about the city. On the top you have a panoram of the city.

From the outside it does look a little plain, with a nice clock. However the fun begins climbing up the many stairs, to the top. There are rooms on the way up with things to see. We had to get a piccie with the executioner and my husbands head on the chopping block. Almost at the top is the clocks... More

Cheap entry fees and some nice views of the old town center from the top! I recommend going up on a clear day right around sunset when the old buildings are soaked in the orange glow of the sunset!

For just 2 lei (less than 50 cents) you can have a beautiful view of Sibiu's main square, while also visiting a beautiful, old tower and a very interesting bell.

It's tiny inside this stairwell, but seeing the inner workings of the clock and of course the views from the top make it worth it!

If you have time and energy, get up in the tower, pass the clock mechanism (is still working) and look out through the small narrow windows on the top. It is a very narrow staircase.

Visited last week during a city break . The trip up the tower gives a great view of the roof tops of the city as well as giving some great history . Also a great value thing to do

When in Sibiu, you've got to visit the tower, stunning views, great atmosphere, especially during winter, when the Christmas lights are on.
