If you want to spend a day in nature, with a long walk, beautiful landscapes and many types of houses, you have to go here. Every house is special and has something specific. You can also see different animals. There are two restaurants if you want to eat, and then continue the walk. This is a special place where you... More

Even if my husband and I are romanians, and we are used to seeing old traditional houses, the open air museum was a delight for our eyes. Everything is so well maintained and lovely decorated, even on Mondays, when you can't see the interior of the houses, it's still worth spending a few hours in here.

Plan at least half a day for it and wear comfortable shoes. Also, choose a day with good weather. A lot of little souvenir merchants selling traditional hand made products scattered around the park.

Indeed, this museum is a unique one, not only in Romania, but also, I guess, in Europe! Here you cann see a collection of windmills (which is guided by the wind direction), a collection of carets and carriages, breasts. Also here it can see a complete collection of grain mills, entrained by water or by animals. One of the very... More

We attended a beautiful Romanian wedding on the pier followed by drinks by the windmills and an evening reception in a large hall with bar area. I can see why a lot of people choose this place for weddings.

A very beautiful location and a good museum to take a walk and see the traditional buildings from allaround Romania. Prepare to walk for some distances, but there are a lot of benches and some restaurants where you can rest and drink/eat something.

A village built on quite a nice idea of having all types of old houses in one place for visitors to experience the old charm of Romania. Its a massive place and quite well maintained. We went early so there were very few visitors. Having the whole place to yourself was a nice touch to the trip. There are several... More
