My trip to Transylvania with Daniel was more than just a fantastic opportunity to see and photograph literally incredible sites that I never otherwise would have known about - it was also a chance to learn a great deal about Romania, its history and culture, and about photographic techniques that I was only vaguely familiar with. Daniel is a great guide, he knows his stuff, and finds places that are really only just coordinates on the map that are astoundingly beautiful (if you are willing to get up and go into the mountains before sunrise). Also, we had great conversations about Eastern Europe because (my command of Romanian being nil) he has a sophisticated control of English so we could get into complex discussions along the way. To cut to the chase, this trip was far better than I would have expected.

Daniel Rosca guided our recent tour of Translyvania beginning in Cluj and travelling through much of the countryside of this beautiful area. Daniel provided us with unique accommodation, wonderful food experiences and lots of information about the history and current issues surrounding Romania. Of particular note was the visit to a Gypsy family and the chance to photograph them and to learn so much about their lives. Unlike the stereotype of this ethnic group this family was the proud owner of a substantial house and business. The family dressed in vibrant coutumes and were wonderfully hospitable. Daniel's knowledge enabled us to have a deep appreciation of the lives of these people. Daniel's organisation and people skills come highly recommended.

Our photo tour with Daniel Rosca was spectacular. Daniel is a perfect guide - knowledgeable, accommodating, and a delight to travel with. His English is impeccable, and, as a photographer himself, he understands the needs and desires of photographers. He provided a wonderful introduction to his beautiful and fascinating country.

Daniel did a super job with our small photo group tour. Besides being extremely knowledgeable about "everything Romania", he did an outstanding job of taking care of each person's needs and desires. Because of Daniel's unique contacts, we were able to experience meeting a wonderful gypsy family who made a living as coppersmiths as well as enjoy a real farm to table breakfast with a most interesting family in a small Romanian town. Both of these examples made our visit to Romania that much more interesting and fun. We highly recommend a trip with Daniel if you're looking for an excellent opportunity to see the countryside and learn about the people and their culture.

I thoroughly enjoyed my two-week photography tour with Daniel Rosca through many regions of Romania in Aug/Sept 2019. He is very knowledgeable about his country and could answer any question about the culture, customs, history, politics and more. He knows many artisans and introduced us to people and places we would not have found on our own. It was a well-paced trip with a good balance of scheduled activities and time to explore on our own. Daniel also went above and beyond by making reservations for restaurants and tours outside of the scope of our trip. If you want to visit a beautiful country and meet the locals, I highly recommend traveling with Daniel!

If you're planning a trip to Romania, make sure to hire Daniel Rosca as your guide. His knowledge of the country is comprehensive and intimate. He know where all the amazing off-the-beaten-track places are to visit... and eat!!! In addition to his grasp of local culture, he is good company, always patient and kind; a gentleman, in sum. As an accomplished photographer himself, Daniel understands what photographers are looking for and will go the extra mile to point out sites and details you might otherwise miss. I was in Romania with a photography group this past summer, and Daniel's presence enhanced our experience in myriad ways. Finally, I am grateful to Daniel for providing me with valuable tips on continuing my stay in Romania to investigate my family roots. His expertise on Romanian heritage sites was an unexpected boon. I highly recommend his services.

I traveled to rural Romania during the peak of fall colors in October 2019 with Daniel Rosca as our local guide and was very impressed with his organization and ability to put our group of photographers in the right place at the right time for some excellent photo opportunities. For me, the trip also was an opportunity to visit an area of Romania associated with my family's heritage, and Daniel was very helpful in assisting me understand the culture and history of Transylvania, my region of interest.

An excellent photographer himself, Daniel is the perfect guide for anyone wishing to explore the scenic beauty and culture of rural Romania.

Daniel's knowledge of the history, culture and people of Romania enabled him to provide a rich experience for our group of 10 persons in a variety of locations in the country. His personal relationships with a diverse group of local persons gave us a higher level of personal interaction with the people of Romania. We stayed primarily in high quality boutique accommodations. We found wonderful places to eat, many of which were "off the beaten path." The locations that we visited gave us a true feel for the country. Daniel's affable personality added to the quality of the week long trip as well.
