A great museum with the exhibits set out in an interesting way. The cars are in impeccable condition and there are lots of them. There are also many toys / home appliances and lots of random
objects from the era 1944 - 1989 which are interesting. Also went to the waxwork museum at the same place. It was 12 Lev to go into the Retro Museum and 12 Lev to see the waxworks or a discounted 18 Lev to get a ticket for both. I’m not sure that it’s worth going into the waxworks museum on its own as it’s only small and some of them (Julia Roberts and Richard Gere to name a couple) were less than convincing, but it was worth an extra 6 Lev to go in there. The museum is in the Grand Mall Varna so it’s easy to find.

The museum itself is really good. many older cars in better condition than when they left the factory. The paint finishes really are stunning.

We spent over an hour and really liked it.

Wear a jacket in the winter as it is set on one level of the car park, so no heating!

They do a deal on the wax museum, some are better than others in that part, but its "half price" if you are visiting the museum anyway.

The museum is located in Grand Mall in Varna, so you can make a shopping on the way. There are rwo museums - Retro and Wax museum, if you go for both, you get a discount.
We only went to the Retro museum, had a great time.
Many exhibition items from the Communism Era, well arranged in relatively small place. The exhibition is very exciting, especially for the people who lived in communistic country. The atmosphere is accomplished by music from that time.
Definitely worth a visit, if you're in Varna.

Located on the 1st floor in Grand Mall Varna. It takes about 60-90 minute to visit it.The exhibits items are in very good condition.

A lot of products from communist period , most of them from Bulgaria but also from other country's from Eastern bloc. A lot of cars and motorcycles from USSR/URSS, East Germany,Poland etc.

Also products from West that were imported during that period :cigarettes, coffe etc.

Excellent museum the quality of the exhibits is remarkable ,. The cars and bikes look better than new . Cheap entry price when I was there two years ago it was quiet less.than 10 people deserves to be more popular . Located.in the main shopping mall on a level of the parking garage it's a good concept that would work in other locations .

I was nicely surprised from the large collection of all varieties of different items. From the bars of soaps, vacuum cleaners and radios to cars as “Chaika”. Everything from 1944 to 1989 years (the communist time). Ive got a nostalgic flash back. Really enjoyed. For the kids-I don’t think they understand anything. They’re not familiar with anything in the exibition. But next to it, it’s the wax figures museum (about 65 different figures like Messi, Ariana Grande, Todor Zivkov, etc. Separate tickets for both museums. Discount for kids/students/pensioners. Adult tickets less than 10$. Cards are acceptable.

This place is purely astonishing as it gives almost a full picture of what used to be truly valuable for the people who lived under Socialism. It would be great if you could have a local person with you and see his or her reaction to items that were part of their household, of their games, of their family traditions. This is not an exhibition with some randomly picked items - this is like a treasury of lives. Naturally, people from the Eastern Block would be more emotional but everyone can learn something there.
You should spare at least hour and a half - you should understand how valuable all items were not long ago.

Wow, a museum where Stalin and Lenin are everywhere. The sexy Soviet cars, 0-60 in 3 minutes, CCCR/USSR manufactured goods with the busts of the great communist legend from soap to dishes. Soviet manufactured toys, every child had back then in the Eastern Bloc. Loved this place, took a few hours.

This is definitely a must see museum. The experience was like a travel back in time. Especially if you are a retro car fan you can find a very rich collection of old cars from the communist block, all in perfect condition a looking like a on a car show. The collection however also includes a lot of everyday items from that time that were used not only in Bulgaria, but in all communist countries - old TVs, radios, cameras, etc. Signs with communist slogans on the walls are also very interesting, but if you don't speak Bulgarian you'll need someone to translate them for you.
