It was raining when my husband and I visited The Aquarium. I cannot remember the price of the ticket but I know it was very cheap.
We were the only people inside and we felt strange. We had no guide and there were just a few explanations in English here and there.
The place is very dark and you have to bend to see some fish there (if any), through the green thick glass. We concluded that we could see more interesting species in any Bulgarian restaurant and we laughed a lot. After that, we felt sorry for people working there and for many other things...
The worst thing was that when we went out we both felt terribly sick. That was because we had had dinner before and we kept bending to see the poor creatures fighting to survive there.
Varna is really nice and there are many things to do there... so maybe you shouldn't go to The Aquarium... unless it's raining.

Unfortunately I think calling this an aquarium is something of an overstatement

It's probably got about as many fish as a local pet store

The whole building is pretty run down needs a good revamp

Not really worth visiting unless you have half an hour to burn..

Spend your time at the archaeological museum instead

You can visit the Aquarium if you have an hour or two to waste and if you are with small children.
It is tiny, compared to the Aquariums I have visited around the world, but there is quite a variety of species for its size and poor funding which is obvious. I am 40 years old and it was exactly the same 30 years ago. The fee is symbolical for what you will see.

I was badly surprised. I visited this aquarium 40 years ago and it is the same one! Like a museum of communist period! You can find only a few aquariums with common fish (no sea turtles, no special fish species from the Black Sea - as is promoted!!!), old fashioned filters etc. No refreshments, no bistro or restaurant, even no WC! A waste of money and time!

My boy is 5 and passionate about sea animals. He liked to sed some fish there but even him (easily to be enthusiastic) was surprised “this is all?”. Small, precarius, poor experience. Enjoy the park and the sea instead.

Walking around the Sea Garden and Varna in general, we stopped by the Aquarium for a coffee and to view the attractions. The dolphins seemed to be well cared for and the attractions were clean and accessible. It was a surprise to find this place, but added a bit of fun to the day. I recommend to visit and support good quality events.

The exhibition is not very rich compared to Yokohama or Sidney aquariums, but the place has a lot of provincial charm and is a nice way to spend couple of hours in a historical building in Varna Sea garden.

The cashier didn't speak any English and we couldn't order 2 student tickets and had to pay full price(which was only 2€pP).
The museum is very small and the aquariums for the fishes are as well very very small.
Not very much translated in English iirc. Not really interesting

I grew up in Constanta and Saturdays we use to go to the Aquarium with all our friends to watch the big sturgeons and all kinds of fish.I am glad that the Aquarium is back to his old glory again.

I would not recommend this place to anybody. It was not worth the entrance fee, I probably spend 10 minutes in the aquarium and did not see anything remarkable.
