Wander the streets, take pictures, see the roman theatre, eat, drink, relax, repeat. Use trip advisor for specific restaurant recommendations it has worked pretty well for me.

I could walk through Old Town for hours and still find nooks and crannies to photograph that have tons of character. There are ruins everywhere - some are just sitting there as yet to be worked on. It's an unspoilt Athens. No one seems enthused...More

You need really good shoes to climb the hills on which Plovdiv was founded, not steep as much as stony and uneven and with construction going on, need to avoid the trucks and workers shoveling with dust in the air. However it's worth the plodding...More

I would not consider Plovdiv a destination idea, more of a stop on the way through Bulgaria. The pedestrian area of old town is pleasant but unspectacular. The tourist sites are really unremarkable.

It is a nice location for slow walk, aimless browsing and enjoying interesting architecture. Museums, churches and little shops to see - not expensive as well.

Many nice historical buildings. But overall in a very poor condition. Very few buildings are in a good shape. Hard to walk, bad roads.

It was a real pleasure to stroll through the old town. The amphitheatre is a most see! There are a couple of nice cafes and bars distributed over the place. A great place to visit!

The old town of Plovdiv is relaxed and easy to navigate due to the well organized signs and tourist friendly attitude to the city council and people there. It is home to ruins, museums, walks and fantastic restaurants .. A must see !
