Lovely place with beautiful views. Not good for people with walking difficulties. I would advise you to go on the free Plovdiv tour and find out about all the lovely buildings.

Plovdiv Old Town and the nearby pedestrian mall are both worth the time to visit. The Old Town itself was made especially interesting by Meto, our Traventuria guide. Highlights included the church and the perfectly preserved home of a wealthy merchant.

Came to this city from Sofia for an afternoon on a bus and really enjoyed it. The old town is great for walking around, the Roman ruins and the old streets are fabulous, I honestly preferred it to Sofia

Lovely day trip, but you def need good walking shoes. It is not a difficult walk, but it is all cobble stones and basically an open air museum. Ancient ruins just laying all about. Beautiful views too.
