Equestrian Centre ‘’Stella’’, situated right in the heart of the magical mountain of Orpheus, the Rhodopes, Only 40 minutes by car from Plovdiv ,seprates you from the breath-taking nature of the most amazing bulgarian mountain, namely Rhodopes. We organise guided horse riding holidays trips and local rides through some of the most picturesque areas around, as the base is situated in the protected area of "Sredni Livadi". Equestrian Center Stella is member of BFES(Bulgarian Federation of Equestrian Sports),BETA(Bulgarian Equestrian TourismAssociation) Our pride and policy of the base is the use of an excellent selection of horse breeds: Trakehner, Shagya Arabian ,Thoroughbred english,East Bulgarian horses. Horses have a height at the withers between 155 cm and 170 cm and have been selected so as to satisfy the wishes of all categories of riders - complete beginners and those with experience We offer training by a qualified instructor, part-time ride, day and multi-day tours to histo

I had an incredible day ! Since I was on my own with no car, Bogdan was nice enough to come pick me up and drop me back. Once at his stables he reminded me of the basics and off we went ! 3 hours of a beautiful ride through the breathtaking sceneries of the Rhodope mountains. I couldn't have found a more professional person, I absolutely enjoyed every minute of it.

I have just spent a week in the Rhodope Mountains on a fabulous trail ride with Bogdan and his lovely wife Luba.
They worked very hard to make sure that we had a good time, whilst also keeping us safe !
Bogdan is passionate about Bulgaria and enjoys passing on his knowledge.
The mountains are spectacular, the horses are so lovely and know their job so well.
It was a wonderful chance to see and experience this beautiful country on horseback .

Would absolutely recommend a tour -- even if you're not experienced!
We are not experienced riders. As such we were recommended a shorter tour, with a lunch in the middle. When we arrived we met our horses, who were gentle, kind, and easy to ride (though a bit hungry so they stopped often to munch on leafs). We rode up to the top of the mountain, and were met with absolutely stunning views! There, we also had a wonderful prepared lunch with more people. The food was really good and the location even more so. After lunch and a short break we rode back down the mountain. In total we spent about two-three hours riding, and two hours lunching. The scenery was beautiful and serene, and we thoroughly enjoyed our day! We would absolutely recommend a horse riding tour with Stella horse base -- regardless of your experience level! The couple that runs the place are super kind and warm people that absolutely did their best to make our experience as enjoyable as possible -- we'd definitely recommend them!

What a great experience! My sister, our 6 British friends and I rode for 6 days in the Rhodope Mountains of Bulgaria with Equestrian Center Stella. Our hosts, Bogdan Syarov and his wife Luba, made us feel welcome and like family. Their horses were willing and well-trained; you could tell they enjoyed their work. We wandered through sun-dappled forests and up and down winding mountain paths; the scenery was stunning and unspoiled. We rode for hours without seeing another soul. We stayed each night in tiny villages in charming, rustic and spotless guest houses. The food was excellent –typical Bulgarian fare, hardy and delicious. Such a unique experience – unforgettable! We’ll certainly be back.

To say this week-long trail ride was terrific is an understatement!
Our hosts, Bogdan and his wife, Luba, took such good care of us. From the horses, the accommodations, the meals, and even a bit of historic sightseeing, no detail was overlooked.
This area of Bulgaria is absolutely gorgeous...pristine wilderness as far as you can see. It is an amazing adventure to experience on horseback...and Bogdon's horses are well cared for, well mannered, and willing, able companions.
I would highly recommend Horse Base Stella and hope to return for another great ride.

A group of friends and I went to a 7 day trail ride at this stables. One word.... amazing!
We stayed at different guest houses along the route, staying in traditional mountain villages. The accommodation and food perfect after 5 - 6 hours ‘in the saddle’ all with comfortable bedrooms with en suite facilities and home cooked hearty food washed down with good wines and beer.
We saw the most spectacular scenery, cantering along twisting paths, bumping into the odd goat herder along the way and views which took my breath away.
Bogdan and his wife, ensured that the trail ran smoothly and were great company.
Bogdan was our lead rider, his English was impeccable and was the perfect tour guide. He is also a qualified vet who has trained his horses to the highest standard and takes great care of them .
I have been on many riding holidays over the years... this one, I rate as one of the best. It had everything and I will be back!

What a wonderful week with wonderful horses and the most helpful and friendly of guides, Bogdan and his wife Luba. The scenery is beautiful and the chance to experience rural Bulgarian villages and traditional food and hospitality was great. I've been on many riding holidays and this one was special because Bogdan cares so much about his guests and his horses. I'd like to come back and do the other trip in the Valley of the Roses. I have just returned from a week’s trail ride set in the mountains of Bulgaria. We were made to feel very welcome and our hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable about their horses and countryside. We stayed at different places each evening ranging from a spa hotel to family run guest houses. All the accommodation exceeded my expectations with en suite bathrooms , delicious meals and very hospitable hosts. I was expecting more basic accommodation but this certainly wasn’t the case. The horses were very well looked after and well schooled. Bogdon managed to match our horses to us perfectly and the horses certainly know their jobs very well. The countryside is stunning and the panoramic views breathtaking. The amount of riding was perfect and set at a good pace. Bogdon and his wife looked after us very well, it is obvious that they love their horses and what they do. I am already planning a return trip to them.

Myself and friends joined Bogdans 6 day mountain trail ride last week. What a fabulous experience, the horses were all very sure footed and each had their own personality, the tack and equipment was also high quality. The riding and scenery was simply breathtaking, mix of paces and with a good mix of picnic lunches and restaurants thrown in. Standard of accommodation was above the basic we had been expecting and hospitality second to none. We will almost certainly be returning to join the faster trail in the coming year or so. A wonderful experience.
