Overall experience is bland. Its nothing but a larger village. If this is considered a fortress wow. The people here are a bit limited but very proud. I used to know a family who are from here and live in Canada.

Based on their stories this was not what I expected good thing I was just driving through no wonder they stayed in Canada and never came back. Now I understand :).

Good place for a 15 minute walk and a sprained ankle to take home as a souvenir.

Wonderful view over Doboj

It was a bit difficult to find the way to the fortress by foot, and the slope up to the fortress was a bit hard to walk. But it's worth! The view over the town from the top of the fortress was breathtaking!

An interesting castle with a breathtaking view

The fortress of Doboj allows you to have a breathtaking view of Doboj city and its surroundings. It has been undergoing some renovation and it looks like it's going to be a much better place than it used to be. If you're a history lover and you're looking for a perfect panorama viewpoint, then, this is the right place for you!

Unfortunately the fortess was very destroyed and broken when I was there, but it was still beautiful and impressive in its faded glory!

A beautiful place deface by vandalism.

The castle itself is very interesting, quite big, and the view is wonderful.

BUT, the entrance door have been broken, and the place is now like a public park always open for local people to drink, eat, defecate and leave their trashes behind. Better not to talk about the broken windows, destroyed toilets, vandalized rooms and furniture.

It looks like it used to be a place of history and fun, with a little theater, children games, historical explanations. Everything is now abandoned and destroyed, giving to the monument a creepy atmosphere.

Sad.

Fantastic view!!!
If you arrive in Doboj you have to visit the fortress. Beautiful view of the whole city, cute café on top of the fortress. Be sure to try the local drink called rakija with which you will be welcomed at the door...

great experience

Do you want to go to the Middle Ages, climb the Doboj fortress. There'll be able to watch the battle of knights, knights who fight for the favor of princesses. All the time you will enjoy magnificent views of the valley Doboj. At the fort there is a cafe, you can enjoy your drink and watch the city and environs. Environment fortress houses are mostly Bosnian Muslims, who after the expulsion of the war and again returned to their homes. The city is mixed with all nations. Doboj is a city of such coexistence in Bosnia.
